    Representing "exctinct" species in BFG?

    Hello

Ive got an idea running around in my head. In the fluff you tend to read about races the Imperium is fighting with (and/or exterminates) alien races of various shapes and sizes. I thought it would be a fun thing to do a campaign on the war(crusade) against one such Xenos races On one side youd have the Imperium and on the other side youd have the various other factions. Either joining in for kicks or for their own nafarious reason.

There comes the problem though... There are only rules and ship stats for excisting races.... SOOOOOO how would i represent those alien races?

    Any ideas?

Any species in particular...? Is it an advanced species, less so?

Well i hadent worked it out to the letter yet...

Basicly i thought that having them as a sort of insectoid race would be fun and fluffy since those are the kinds of races the Imperium seems to run into whenever they dont pay attention and round a new corner...

I had though about representing them with Nid rules without instinctive behaviour...

That said, maybe it would be fun to have them be an advanced race but then i wouldnt know what race to pick

Basicly i want to pick (or rather "make") this race for the campaign.

Well if you want a generic xenos ship, the Rogue trader fleet rules had rules for a "xenos vessel" escort ship.

For a counts-as fleet, well you could do orks maybe? Or perhaps tau or eldar for your more sophisticated fleets.

Perhaps even a mechanicus fleet, which has alot of little random experimental ship improvements that could be used to represent xenos tech.

my recommendation is to use the rogue trader list and apply a single xeno tech across the whole fleet.

It's not a set of rules for a whole fleet, it is one cruiser and up to six escorts to bring along in a regular fleet

Re: Representing "exctinct" species in BFG?

I thought about ad mech as well but deleted it from the post as there was no way to choose the same tech across the fleet
That and the comment made about imperial vs xenos made me think the ships would be too similar

the updated rogue trader list has one cruiser and 2 light cruisers, as well as the Fra'al "battleship"

I think Fracas road is best. Go along the xenos from the updated RT list.
