    Re: Kisanis's Blog-o-matic

    So last update for now:

Working on finally making my vendetta WYSWIG.

    So that means lascannons!

Maybe this will work? It turned out to be easier than i thought. The basic tip of the gun is surprisingly simple to make with a sharp knife.

So a little more work and I end up with:

I'm very satisfied with this result.

The next major step is turning the 4 into 2 pods to mount under the wing.

Heres hoping everything i learned about scratchbuilding orks will work... Especially in a clean but chunky imperial aesthetic!

Wow, those lascannons look amazing - I'd love to hear the details of how you managed that & with what materials, sometime.

    Re: Kisanis's Blog-o-matic

Honestly it was ridiculously easy. Just 2 sizes of plasticard tubing. One slides into the other perfectly. Just cut to size and shape and gently glue on.

If i was to do it again i would use a micrometer and a fine point pen, but i was in a rush and basically eyeballed everything.

I finished it all up, and boxed off the back into a mount. I may still cut some rivets up and add for detail, but for now I would call it done.

That's the spirit. I've always preferred fun lists to gamey ones.

Those lascannons are pretty nifty. What size tubing are you using? I always found it difficult to cut plasticard tubes without caving them in.

Thanks! I'm actually looking forward to 8th edition to see what they do to reset things.

Im not sure of the tubing size, but its from a plasticard multipack. The key to pulling it off was an extremely sharp knife and gentle hands.

I'll take an army pic w/my display board today.

Lost all 3 of my games yesterday and was tabled twice. But i still had fun - i mean i had no expectations lol.

Awesome scratch building for "just" eye balling it.

I hope 8th gives you more opponents on the same level or a different mode to try out.

    Thanks Joe.

My day job consists of precision machine components, so im still annoyed by the uneven cuts. Ill be doing better in the future. Lots of plasticard for my orks on the way

I am lookimg forward to 8th. The fact that veterans from all ends of the tourny (top tier to bottom tier like ourselves) were just annoyed at the cheese lists out there...it shows that the system is broken.

I'll try and put up some picks of my army and the tournament.

So now tourney pics yet, just another snapshot of whats back on my desk...

    More WW2 Canadians!

I was at my Grand-Uncles house for his 91st birthday and we had a massive box of WW2/WW1 era (mixed) pictures, postcards, docs, everything.

Great bit of insipiration to finish this 1000 point list off.

That's some seriously nice scratch-builing on the vendetta lascannons!

The Canadians are a cool project. I shall follow this.

Thanks for the high praise Sigur! It means a lot coming from one of the painting masters on this board!

I guess i should get some painting done? I'm moving in June and am in classes part time, so its been hard to get work done. But hopefully i'll have an update this week!

    Re: Kisanis's Blog-o-matic

    Good news!

I have painted for several weekends on end!

    Bad news:
    Its not models.

We bought a house and are undergoing major renos (the pic is my kitchen after 4 weeks of demo and rebuild...)

Eventually i will get a basement to lurk with models once again, but for now it looks rough... (Its actually worse looking than the picture... But youbget the idea...)

At least you're making progress! Definitely seems like the kitchen is coming along well.

    I HAVE... RETURNED!

    AGAIN!

Ok, So I'm back to painting some minis after the worst of the renos has allowed me to unpack some...6 months later?

Nothing major - but I've really gotten into 9th age, and this has renewed my interest in the rats! (Don't worry Sigur, the Canadians and historicals will be back)

I also have 2 instagrams out now

    @switzereno for the house
    @switzhobbies for the model painting

Just some *rough* WIP shots right now:
