    Really? No replies?

maybe my diversions will get some attention. I ran out of motivation on the bikes (And failed to prime the arms at the same time as the riders...) however, in my distractedness i got building.

You may remember earlier i was building 'ard nobz with black orks...
6th edition killed that project... but gave me a new idea

    Meganobz!
So I have to stress that this is my first time working with plasticard. I need to practice so i can build a decent warboss later
I was pretty pleased with the outcome all things considered.

I need to get some learning and practice with green stuff in next (again, to learn!) but I think I'll skip it for these guys. I'm confident i can paint away the worst of the flaws and make them a presentable force.

    Speaking of conversions...

Love the new mega nobs! And great work with plasticard (similarly, I've not used it much/with success). I think I'm more excited to see the 1940 Ford Convertible trukks hehehe.

I know not much about 40k Orks but my guess is buggies.

Some nice scenery and lot's of mean and green. Speaking of green, for green stuff the basic tool and a pointy thing are a good start, you need good tools. It is quite fun to learn and very rewarding because you can get your ideas visualized.

    Thanks LittleJoe!

I'll start dabbling in it soon. Right now i got distracted by planning a skype based pathfinder campaign with friends, your's truly is DMing so i have to do some work..

That said, you're correct with your guess about the hot rods - orky mad max meets 1950's hoodlum cars. Part of me just wants an ork with a rokkit launcha/big shoota to work as my counts as (just has more character to it, and may be easier to convert.) It's a WIP and i'm sure I figure it out.

I picked up some new plasticard the other day as well, so I do have all the supplies needed to get things going!

Indeed, I'd like to see some modular stuff, and new weapon choice (no meltas or flamers, that's a shame).

Lots of good work there, my fav are the orks, very nice. Got some to paint for playing gorkamorka.
For the base, go for desert. And that way they can fight with your Tallarn soldiers.

    Gasp! an update!

Not much sadly. I spent this summer playing video games, camping, and fishing. But i restarted painting too! I have to move again, which is annoying, but i regain a dedicated space (ie not a desk in my livingroom). Finally my GF and I are leaving the student ghetto - It'll be nice.

I'm fairly content with how it came out. Not my best work, but it was the first time i've painted in months, and first time i've painted such a kitbash conversion in years... I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

    Re: Kisanis's Blog-o-matic

it was relaxing! Not enough fish were caught, but oh well.

I'm hoping I can paint through enough of the 'defects' I caved however and got some kromlech stuff though... so I'm not gonna build a warboss, but i do need to put a flamer on my ork mega-armoured warboss (I like combi flamers on nobz, makes for great work before the charge).

When're you gonna update JT? i found your thread languishing back with mine near page 3?

Languishing is the right word! I've been working on some things, albeit a little more slowly. Been busy organizing my stuff for sale so time is a little tight. I hope to be able to post soon!

Meanwhile, looking forward to seeing your kromlech goodies. Some of their stuff is really quite nice.

Looking good my friend, nice to know theres a lot of others that suffer the same problem as myself and can't keep 100% focussed on a single project for too long.

The cars were randomly found in a dollarama. i think i was picking up a birthday card and saw them. It was a no brainer for me (I hate the GW warbuggies).

    Thanks all!

    Re: Kisanis's Blog-o-matic

    I'm baaaack

I dont know if that worked, but its 4 bren carriers by warlord I picked up last year.

I also built a sherman firefly and a 3" mortar team to go with them.

All goes to plan the canadians may actually get finished soon.

Orks are still a go, I just got in a funk about them.

New house (as of october...) gave me a basement for gaming and painting.

I also made it out to hotlead again back in march. It was a great time and cant stress how much you should go if ypu wargame in southern ontario or nearby USA.

Nice painting, Skaven look good blah blah blah. Car info please looks like a sweet hobby car. Do you still have it after the move?
I also spent my holiday in an internet/phone free zone. Best way to do it.

The blue car is a 1973 MGBGT and yes it is still at my parents (hour's drive away)

The black one was my old civic, its gone to the scrapheap in the sky. I miss it dearly.

The mgb has the last of the parts needed to be road worthy, all I need is time to work on it on a free weekend

I got the orks for 5$ and the marines for 5$

The orks were from an auction service and came with some hero clix.

I'm really happy with them, I like the goofyness in these old orks.

Also I got a game in! 1500 of my guard with 1500 tau, vs 3000 grey knights imperial knights, and some imperial fists.

    We got stomped lol.

We had first turn. Lost the initiative roll, the deep strike hit hard, my vendetta was in hover (assuming 1st turn).

The imperial knight fell eventually, but the dreadknights stomped us. Drop pods also stomped hard.

Still painting my canadians. Working on a mortar team. No decent pics yet, soo to follow.

In all fairness they look the same as brits and other commonwealth soldiers. I just use canadian rules where able.

I may get my hands on a ram kangaroo from warlord, or try and make other small adjustments here and there.

I also lost my transfer sheets for the bren carriers, and I have little desire to freehand many of the markings (im good, but not that good...)

I did make the stars angled/crooked as candians tended to make them.

Im a little miffed that the sherman from rubicon only has american markings. Thats kinda annoying.

    New lamp!

Better phone pics and finally 100% done bren carriers.

I may add markings at a tbd date, but only if i find 1st canadian division transfers. (my grandfathers unit, thats all I know though, he passed before I had a big enough interest)

Same with the red patches on the shoulders of the infantry.
