Planets are a bit broken as terrain. Out of all the celestial phenomena they simply offere the most benefits to the player in the best position to claim them. Outside of scenarios requiring them, they should be kept to the sides of the board and out of they way if possible, or at least about equidistant from both deployment zones.

Also, if he likes sitting on planets and somehow always has one, make sure you also have one. And sit on it with nova cannon. The imperial navy is better at planet squatting than the Tau at the end of the day. This is only in case all else fails. The games will be terriboring, but hopefully he'll see the wrongness in abusing the planet rules.
Good suggestion, but don't just take 'a' nova cannon.

    Load up on them.

Also, he is a ****** GM.

    I never said 'a' :P
Cannon is a valid plural of cannon.

If he is on a planet and you are on another planet/moon and there is no other phenomena inbetween, then you have line of sight. Only being behind the planet blocks LOS.

Oh right beeing ontop of the planet you can see him

With that enlightenment I vote go for the NC's. If nothing else to use his own tactics against him and to show him how lame the tactic is that he is using

Well, played a game with other people including one of the players who left the cheaters game.
Had fun and found out more things he either lied about or got wrong.
Now seriously pissed at him, so got in a flaming text war with him and left his game.

    I feel better already.

Already forming a real campaign with other players. If anyone here is in the Detroit suburb area and is interested in playing gothic, please contact me.

Good thing you jumped out. Shame you left in a fight though. Sure he may have cheated but I always find it at least benefifial to both parties if you can stay (or pretend to stay) civil.

Perhaps he can see he light of day and play the game as its supposed to be played. That said its a good thing you left enjoy the game properly i say

Thats actually what i meant if someone is beeing a dick and hes ignorant of it how will he know how people think about it?

To take an example from my gaming group. We had a gamer of at our local store a great while back who smelled horrible. He dident seem to notice and everyone felt bad about saying something about it. I think his brother (also part of the gaming group) eventually told us he had a condition that basicly caused it. No amounts of deoderant could solve it sadly and havent seen the guy in ages.

Why i take that as an example? Because someone is doing something disruptive you shouldnt inmediatly give them the boot (imho) specialy when your gaming group is small (which mine is) every loss is felt badly.

That said i wouldnt let him get away with the stuff he was pulling off either. they way it sounds he did this intentional in which case its even cheesier

I say offer him the chance to join your group (after a while offcourse) and ask if he would like to play by the rules. If not at least you tried. If he does he might grow to like this awesome game and the tactics that he has to use when he actually plays the damned game

Oh and if he then pulls this **** again you can boot him out since its your group

All players should understand that win or lose if your opponent did not have fun playing you he likely won't play you again

Winning by cheating is no victory, and the reward is less than one earned with your skill and tactics. I'd always give a person a second chance after calling them out on cheating however. Also, in some cases there can be genuine mistakes made.
