Hope you like the updates guys! I've decided to start taking all photos of my nids this way from now for the sake of quality.
I still have a Mawloc, Heirodule and two Hive Guard to paint up and another new army idea brewing...
All crit is welcome, what do you think of the Trygons eye? I don't think im happy with it, feels like it needs more detail.
Full army shot planned in the future too and updates of all miniatures with better pictures.
Thanks for being patient guys.
Polo.
P.S if anyone has any advice for getting this thread to five stars, it would be most welcome.

That Trygon looks very nice. Good to see, that the change of the jaws worked so flawlessly.
As for you question about the five stars-rating: the choice of colours is very nice and I like the edge-highlights you've used. There are only two things which would hinder me from rating your miniatures from superb (4 stars) to perfect (5 stars) :
1) I don't like drybrushed skin - I"m sure you have the skill to apply "normal" highlights to the skin of you Nids. It takes more time but is well worth the effort.
2) The highlights on the carapace are very "sudden"(?) - a smoother start might be better.
Don't get me wrong, I like your style and miniatures the way they are, but these might be two things that could be improved.
The mawlock looks like he's rockin out XD great work!!!!

Cheers Dezmord, I agree with you on the skin, this was planned originally to be a quick paint scheme army, hence the dry brushed skin. Perhaps my next project of which I will be dedicating more painting time to may have a better chance. It's very good to hear such a honest response and for that I thank you.
Cheers for all the comments guys !

Have to say- they look stunning, I love the luminescence of your scheme- especially on the tervigon birthing sac. Really fantastic work, especially impressive with such a bold scheme- keep it up!

Hi guys just to let you know I am completely re vamping these tyranids and also this blog.
After much thought I have decided the project has diverted onto the wrong path, some of the colours of certain models I have painted does not match up with earlier ones and also the bases of certain models do not match up either.
I have decided to tidy up the entire army, going over each model and bringing them into a full coherent force and also to make all the bases the same.
I spent all day yesterday experimenting with the new paint range to try achieve the original crimson purple colour I found using the new Citadel colours.
After a lot of time (about 2 hours) I finally worked out what paints and inks to use to get what I want.
I will be spending the next couple of week bringing these changes to the entire army and I have also conscripted a professional photographer friend of mine to record the results.
This will mean a fresh blog with fresh pictures with a much cleaner, better looking army.
When it is all ready I will post link to new blog on here for all to see.
Cheers for your time and patience guys.

That's nice to hear.
Definitely a good suggestion by "The French Guy", the tyrant looks very cool.
I like for instacne the bone sword and the head's hor, they really give the impression "hm, tyranids are meant to have chitinplates... now wth is this?!".
'Looking forward to what's coming next.![]()
