Just read through your blog and there's some very inspirational stuff in here, now I have to actually try to get things done properly aswell. A bit envious of your gs skills on the defiler and tank, wish I could do it that properly. I'll be following this blog closely for more inspiration

HAVOC SQUAD 2 COMPLETE (I have been sick most of the week so I am behind schedule so I am rushing a bit)

some extra Rhino Greenstuffing Next squad up....and a look at the 1850pt army as it stands today I have already given up on having the whole army done by april 1st for the tourney but I am trying to at least finish off the squads

OK UPDATE TIME....As you all know I was shooting to have completed 1850pts painted by April 1st for a local tournament BUT life was against me as my 4 year old son broke his arm falling off the jungle gym in the park with me....and then last week I was sick as a dog I lost a lot of quality painting days...I got as much as I could done and went to the tourney.

HERE ARE THE RESULTS:

1st Match - I was doing ok vs Crimson Fists untill turn 3 when I shot a landraider crusader with my Dreadknaught's twin linked Lascannon and Missle Launcher, and 3 melta guns from 2 Plague Marine Squads all failing to stop thes damn thing (2 of the meltas were in 6" range and hit but rolled 1+1 and 1+2 for the armor penetration rolls GAAAA!) The land raider continued onwards and dumped out Lysander and a bunch of Thunder Hammer/ Storm Shield Terminators right into squad typhus and started killing off my terminators I even dumped in 2 squads of Plague Marines to try and save Typhus but they all got pounded to hell. It was down hill from there...but all in all the havocs overperformed as expected killing off 2 1/2 squads of scouts from a distance and the defiler was dead on with his battle cannon vs 2 squads of devistators with 4 missle launchers each getting his points back easily. So it was a loss but was a good game.

2nd Match - VS Raven Guard doing great up untill the end again when another Landraider Crusader full of Thunder hammer and Storm Shield Terminators gets through my gauntlet of fire all I was able to do was kill the weapons on the damn thing and they started mushing up my plague marines and losing my objectives they held but in the end we both failed all primary and secondary objectives and it came down to victory points and I came out a winner of that match whew.

3rd Match - VS Necron Holy cow Starts off Dawn of war night fight and guy had 2 of those Doom Scythe death ray vehicles and 5 of the Night Scythe with Crazy Tesla Destructors he goes flat out first turn and I cant hit him b/c of bad rolls of course second turn all the death ray and tesla crap starts with all that Arcing and all my guys bunched up by 2 objectives if it was not for feel no pain on the plague marines I would have been toast again and in all 3 matches the two 4 Autocannon each Havoc Squads proved their worth and shot down 3 Tesla vehicles and the 2 death Ray vehicles and I toasted a necron overlord lord quickly who was ballsy enough to run flat out into the middle of my plague marine squads with his command barge and my Melta gun Plageue Marines Squads were able to kill his vehicle and him. In the end it came down to Victory points and killing the necron vehicles had been the smart move and killing his overlord put me over the top and I came out with a win again due to victory points.

I learned alot and the Autocannon Havocs are here to stay. Here is the Army shot I went with...

Ok I have a new goal to keep the momentum going there is a 1750 pt 40k Tournament on April 28th hosted by The battle for Salvation club. Pending wife approval I plan on going...already worked out my list off of the 1850 pt list I just used on April 1st and minus the Dreadnaught and tweeked a bit. I'll try to get some picks up of the 1750 pt Break down and current PM squad that I am working on progress tonight if I can.

i also have been working on my ForgeWorld Kits....first off is my first two FW Death Guard combined with MK3 Iron Armor, fully magnetized! Weapon too!!

More DG MK3 and I green stuffed a few MK3 shoulder pads to see how they would look, then a new horm for the one that broke off my Dread and a view of its nurglized missile launcher

I do not like the standard Defiler close Combat arm so I started my own using the soul Grinder arm

oK FINISHED the 3rd and final Plague Marine Squad for the 1750 pt RTT this coming Saturday....now I have to finish up the 3 Rhinos and the Defiler before then. Doh you cant tell by this last picture but I spent a lot of time layering this guys skull the flash washes it out BUT now in the picture I see I screwed up and got a little speck of RED up there on the top left of the skull ;( and yes I know I didn't paint the plasma chamber on the plasma guns I have never done one before and I have not made a decision on the color I want to make it yet so i'm leaving it unfinished untill later.

Yeah im doing another local RTT its 1750 pts i'm gonna try to do a better battle report for that one. I did participate in a custom HQ Megabattle two weeks ago it was HQ was FREE then you had another 1000 pts following normal Force org and Troops regenerated meaning if a whole nit of troops was wiped out they came back next turn on your board edge. I ran with Typhus for the HQ and 5 (7)Man squads of Plague Marines, (4) of them were just 7 Plague Marines with 2 Plasma guns each, and the 5th ran with 2 Melta guns and a Champion with Plasma Pistol and Power Fist. It worked out great my PM squads proved to be really resilient and I had two squads camping our objective that was closest to the enemy side of the board and they held off against 10 Dark Angels Deathwing Terminators and some crimson fists the whole game I only eventually lost one of those squads the rest did their jobs being anoyingly tough to kill and knocking off wounds on enemy hqs and multi wound units with the plasma guns. Sadly Typhus didn't see much action he got slowed down with bad difficult terrain rulls and bad run rolls on the shooting phase.

hehe wow I was amazingly horrible first match was vs Orcs he had his warboss on a bike and Nob bikers and 3 squadrons of 3 killa kans, lootas, and a big 30 boys mob and a big mek. The lootas were extremely lucky and kept getting 30 something shots and his dice rolls were scoring way too many hits with them, the killa kans moved with the big mek who gives them an obscured save and a lot of them had missle launchers that were nailing me. the nob bikers plowed into my plague marines that got poped out of their rhinos from killla kan missles eventually I was able to force the bikers to route off the board when he made the mistake of separating his warboss from the nobs and I got lucky and killed the banner pole nob they failed their leadership and Terminator squad Typhus went after the warboss but of course typhus rolled a 1 and hit himself but then my terminator champ finished off the nob with hit twin lightning claws but in the end they did their damage and I was with out my melta plague marines and the lootas and kans were grinding me down.

Second match could have and should have gone my way vs necrons but again bad rolls vs a necro overlord in the middle of the board tied up squad typhus (but Typhus already died to a Death Ray hit GW should FAQ in Eternal warror on him) and my double Melta squad of Plague Marines. The damn overlord would not die kept making is invulnerable saves against the power fists and he had some damn jedi mind trick that would take over one of my guys of course it kept being the terminator with the chainfist that was also killing my own guys....eventually I kill him off but then he makes his we'll be back roll and has a phylatceral crap and gets back up with all 3 wounds back! I was able to kill all 3 death ray vehicles but then he had 4 of those barges loaded up with necron warriors and they had shields and the amount of fire was chewing me up as I was only able to take one down.

The third match was against Necrons again At first this guy was playing horribly and would advance his guys up then I would chew a few guys up with my auto cannons and he then actually retreated out of line of sight of my autocannon havocs that were holded up in a building. everything was going good until he finally got the balls enough to use his Monolith and got lucky and toasted a full squad of my plague marines (the good wone with power fist and 2 meltas with one damn blast then he ports in a large squad of warriors and I stupidly let a large squad of warriors take one of my objectives on the far side .....I killed way more of his guys than he did mine but he was able to steal my far side objective and I lost my troops on the middle objective and he got it with the warriors he ported in and I only held one more objective on my side and contested another on his side and then I was able to contest the middle one at the very end but he beat me 2 objective to one it was a stupid loss really kicking my self in the ass over it....I shold have had the havocs on both sides of the board instead of one corner.
