Noooooo! Mondobot worked out a cure for this, which doesn't involve garbage cans or stripping! If it's not too late, send him a PM.......

It is humidity. I live in Houston, so 80% humidity is assumed, and have experienced this a few times.

Whenever doing varnish, always do it inside, and wear a mask. Ventilate afterwards. Seems counter-intuitive, but it will prevent you from losing quite a few models to varnish.

Glad to hear that it might be humidity.

I've ordered a can of Vallejo Matte Spray Varnish yesterday, as I've heard that most other varnishes are less prone to humidity, temperature etc. than Purity Seal.

    Too late...

Here's the Haemonculus. He and also some of the Warriors are also affected by "white powder effect"...

It's been a while since the last post and I spent most of my hobby-time assembling more DE and painting some more Warriors. Two other models I'm currently working on are these two beauties:

Very nice work here Dezmord. The wrack and haemonculus look promising

Good painting, and a very good choice of army colours.

...and here's the second Haemonculus (he's less glossy in reality):

Sorry to hear about the varnishing incident. Hope you can recover the models.

Rest is looking good so far.

    Thanks!

    Two more Warriors are done:

I've tried Vallejo Satin Spray Varnish on them and I'm quite pleased with the result.

    Re: The Shadows are coming...

Satin spray is the way to go for most things, IMHO.

Gloss just looks to silly. I dont' know if this makes sense but gloss is way too shiney. Just doesn't look right. Matt...I think works for Orks, IG and Tau but other armies look took flat.

Satin is a great choice but it gives what I think is a realistic amount of shine for the scale. My only problem is trying to gauge how dark the model will end up after I've varnished.

The Warriors look great so far. Is it possible that every single army you have has the same bases?

I think so, too, and I was mostly pleased with GW's Purity Seal, but due to may varnishing accidents I decided to give Vallejo a try. I've also ordered their Game Colour Series Satin Varnish paint.

I try to be consistent with may base-design throughout my armies. Tyranids, Necorns and Dark Eldar have the same bases, Daemons and TS bases look a little different and my Ork-bases are brown.

These do indeed look good. I like the subtle purple and green, adds some nice contrast to the model.

    Re: The Shadows are coming...

Glad to hear that you like 'em.

Here are the last Warriors of the first squad (9 + Haemonculus):

I thought that bright green (like the lenses) would be a nice colour or Agonizers.

Next will be the Wracks and the Warriors Raider.

You're right there, the bright yellow matches the dark colour scheme greatly! Nice work!

Three more Wracks are done - the army starts to shape up.

I'm normally against bloody weapons but I thought it would be appropriate for the Wracks (maybe they practice field-surgery?).

Those look really nice. A full squad of them should look great on the tabletop.
