Thread: HwG Phantom Titan Blog

    Re: HwG Phantom Titan Blog

Can you send me a link to a US shop so I can see the image of the base clock face pre nerdified? I've been googling the UK all day and failing miserably. I have some pals in the states that if all else fails can potentially ship one over. Ta!

Oh btw, yellow has begun...one pot of vallejo Golden Yellow used and thats covered just 2 coats on the arms, torso weapons and head. Not touched the legs yet.

Still need to decide where not to glue so it can be taken down for storage but still be firm enough to not collapse on the table top. Central torso is easy, but the arms are the tricky one.

    Re: HwG Phantom Titan Blog

There are a few shots in my thread of the clockface base starting with this post: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=140

Here's the type of thing you'd look for online: http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CF4Q8wIwAg#

I hope that helps. If your friends are in the New England area of the states then it could be picked up directly at a Craft store called Michaels. Joann Fabrics may also have them.

Right, found one on Amazon UK's site. Bit more pricey than the US version, and postage was nearly as much as the wood! But £16 and thats the base board sorted. Should be delivered in a couple of days

Cheers for the assist GoW. Much appreciated. Searching "plaque" worked a lot better than clock faces

Already tried those, but the dimensions were not right. Anything from cheese board, chopping board etc. The only right size only gave 4" thick ones...at £60. A bit on the heavy side

This one seems the right size (proven on GoW) and for reasonable cost.

    Cheers anyways!

Well I am a smashing bloke if I do say so myself...:P
Its always nice to have polite conversation on toy soldier forums instead of the competetive "your list sucks and would never win a tournament meta waffle and I will pwn you and your friends".

Anyway, lots of yellow later, new cans of white primer purchased this lunch time, first stage night blue added to holofins and armour plates done before work today. No more FW grey resin, it has colour!!!

Base expected to be delivered on Friday.

Been a busy week in HwG Phil the Phantom blog!

Thanks for that. One thing I can really say is this section is my favorite part of the forum. It feels like a real community. I've been watching the Titan blogs closely as I've been working on mine seeing how others have been coping with the project.

Plus I've been following your standard Iyanden list because one of my friends plays Iyanden and it's interesting seeing how different players work with that much yellow.

    Re: HwG Phantom Titan Blog

    Quick updates (sorry no pics!)
I had to re apply the white prime to the upper and lower legs. After the first prime, I realised that the scraping and filing of the resin mould line joins looked awful and really showed with the primer paint applied, and as these are huge and need to be smooth, I found some really fine finishing sand paper and redid them. They look a lot lot better now, and were re-primed white and look smooth again. I can now airbrush yellow the remaining parts meaning everything is basecoated at last.

Started the first blue airbrush work on the smaller fins and vanes. Not sure if its too big a jump in colour, so will see how it goes incase it needs a re-do.

Still awaiting my base delivery dammit.

In between waiting on paint to dry, I converted up my FW Wraithseer with a changed hand position and leg cut and mounted on a Scibor Egypt base. (Nothing exciting for converters, bery very basic!)

Additionally I finished 10 more Skimmer bases for my recent skimmer additions which I was sharing bases around depending onw hat models were being used.

Oh and I finished the Butcher of Khardov for my WM army.

Not that this is related to The Titan, but meh

I have a free weekend baring dinner for my birthday with the wife on Sat night. I plan on muchos Titan progress and pics.

Hah! That's helpful. Just had a look myself. Cheers to all for the info!

All the Titan threads are excellent to read. I hope to get one of these monsters ion the future to go with the Armorcast one I have. Still got four Revenants to build and paint though!

Heh heh, yeah. My Eldar are going to be my only Apoc force so I've been going a touch mad. 5 Titans should put the frightener up anyone! The Armorcast Titan has it's standard armament and two Revenants are Pulsar armed, the other two, Sonic Lances. I have a Scorpion MkII painted and want to get a Cobra and onr of each Lynx.

    Eldar rock.
