    my little Malifaux log

Hi everyone, i've recently gotten into a cool game called Malifaux. This will be my painting log for Malifaux miniatures : ) They're made by Wyrd Games, and they are in 32mm scale and have more realistic proportions than GW's 28mm models (well at least the showgirls do).

See http://wyrd-games.net/ for more info about the game and miniatures : )

i've played a couple of games with borrowed minis, and had to think hard before deciding on what crew i wanted to start out with. There are so many that i like! Eventually i settled on Colette and her burlesque showgirls since they're so different from anything i've painted before.

Here's my first showgirl. The first pictures could be better i'm afraid. You can't quite see all the detail, like her eyeshadow. Oh well, i took one with another camera too, a better one.
This miniature was so fun to paint. i spent a lot of time on her and it was hard to stop. In the end, i'm very happy with the result.
i tried to make her look hispanic. The wooden planks are made out of plastic card. Oh and the base might get something stuck to it in the future, like some playing cards, coins or something.

Here's a very zoomed in version of the picture i took with the better camera. Heh it's fun to see minis enlargened this much.

Looks great! I really like all the colour tones you've used I think the addition of some playing cards or some such to the base would really set it off well.
Are you enjoying the shift in scale?

You had me with, "the base might get something stuck to it." I'm a big fan of fancy bases.

Another vote for playing cards on the base, if you can manage it. Personally I don't like to zoom in on my minis too much, it gets depressing...

This is a very pretty mini. I'm impressed by the paintjob and the wooden plank basing is really nice, I also agree some playing cards littered on the floor could be a nice touch.

The only possible criticism is about the sculpt of her left hand, wich looks a bit crippled to me. Maybe you could try to add playing cards (made out of the thinnest platicard) in her hand to hide it a bit.

Very nicely painted, the hispanic feel really comes through.

    Re: my little Malifaux log

Sorry about the very late replies and update everyone. I've been painting wood elves and doing the odd commission during the fall so i haven't had the time to finish anymore Malifaux minis until now.

Elazar: Glad you like her : ) Yes. We'll see if i do that or not. Don't really minde the simple look of the wooden bases myself but at least few of them will get something to break it up a little bit. Yes i am and it's great fun to paint dresses ^^

    Monsterzonk: Thank you. : )

    Nordix: Thanks a lot!

Mdiscala: Hehe nice. Still haven't done it though. Oh well haha

de Selby: Yeah we'll see. Will probably buy some thin plastic card and try it out – any year now! Yes it can get a bit depressing.

Duke Donald: Thanks. Glad you think so It does look a bit weird yes. Consider the model finished for now but i might do something like that in the future. I'm sure it could look great : )

Merbeau: That's great to hear. Thanks!

Here's my first mannequin which i finished in january. i never got fully satisfied with her paint job but this will have to do. i can't continue painting her forever. i went for the same colours as with the performer but mirrored the colour scheme so now the red is the main colour and the turquoise is the complementary one.

i also paint warhammer related stuff so the Malifaux progress will be a bit slow but i will try to paint at least one Malifaux model every month from now on and i'll spend a lot of time on each one.

    Re: my little Malifaux log

    Thanks Elazar!

Alright, so … I’m back – finally. It’s been ages. I’ve been busy going for my bachelor’s degree and haven’t had much time for painting at all this year, but I made it! And I’ve now got more time to spend on my hobby. So after this ridiculously late update there will be more frequent updates

Hope you like them Next up will probably be Colette herself, or a silent one.

Cassandra looks magnificent. The colour of her dress is so vibrant, the shading on her skin is excellent.
Makes me want to dig out my Showgirls and finally finish them.

Very nice! The color tones on the dress are really well done. I really like the little monster bases too.
