Mystery Final Boss:

The Golem and Lord Lusuir (-2 attacks)
vs
Lahboura

“Bitch! You’ll die for your betrayal!”

Lahboura, her red gown flowing in the wind, only smiled at the insult.

Lord Lusuir might have been a highly trained and powerful warrior, but in his current state, battered and bruised, he was little threat to the vampire. Yet the high elve prince forced himself to his feet, his once glorious white robes and gleaming armor now covered in blood and dirt, and faced off against the legendary vampire.

As Lahboura drew in the magical energies, Lusuir acted quickly and grabbed a dagger from his belt and threw it at the vampire. His aim being true it sank into her neck… but she didn’t seem to care.

The vampire’s eyes went black with power, her magic made stronger by the fully charged amulet she stole from Lusuir, and then a beam of black shot out from her outstretched hand and engulfed the prince.

As if the black light was an extension of her arm, she lifted Lusuir into the air, slammed him back to the ground, and then held him there; the weight feeling to Lusuir as if an ogre was sitting on his chest.

“Oh foolish Elfling... do you really thing you can stand up to my power?”

While Lahboura kept the elve in one place with one hand, the other came up to her neck, pulled out the dagger, dropped it to the floor, and then healed the damage using the dart arts.

“Tell you what, let’s make this fun…”

The weight on Lusuir’s chest went away as Lahboura released him and she drew a scimitar once again from her belt.

Jumping at the chance, Lusuir rolled back to his feet and pulled out his bow, only to have a black wind grab it and toss it across the ring.

“Tisk tisk…” Lahboura mocked. “If I can’t use my magic, then you can’t use your bow…”

The prince was filled too much with rage to respond. If this vampire bitch wanted to go blade to blade then she could die any way she pleased…

Lusuir darted in, swing at the vampire once at the mid-section, then around and towards her thigh, around and up towards her head, and then back and lunging towards her chest… but every blow missed it’s mark as she swiftly dodged to side to side.

Exhausted and frustrated, Lusuir threw all his strength into one more swing, but Lahboura easily blocked it with her scimitar, grabbed his sword arm with her free hand, and then and then plunged the scimitar into his stomach.

Blood poured from Lusuir’s mouth as he groaned… and then, he was gone!

“Drat!” Cursed the vampire to herself. “I had forgotten about that the stupid enchanted armor…”

Although it hasn’t come up yet in the tournament, Lusuir’s armor had been imbued with magical power to teleport him away in a time of dire need. Lahboura spun around trying to find where Lusuir had ended up and found him… by the golem… with the cursed amulet!

“Y-you might be quick *wheeze* b-but I’m faster…”

Lusuir thrust the glowing red amulet into the iron and wood golem and at once it reanimated. Lahboura blitz forward, hoping to finish the elf off and regain control of the golem, but she was a little bit too late…

An iron hand closed around her waist, and then another around her chest, and before she had time to scream the golem tore Lahboura apart and threw the limp form away.

It was over… but in the end it seemed it was all for nothing…

The cursed amulet, which held what was left of his friend Fubar, was absolutely pulsing with energy, waiting to be released, and yet Lusuir had no idea how to activate it…

With his body still pumping adrenaline through his body, Lusuir shed a tear and then started to walk away… until something caught his eye: Lauboura’s purse.

When her body had been ripped in half her purse had fallen to the ground, and the contents hand spilled to the arena floor. Most of it was various kinds of currency and perfumes, but the thing that had caught his eye was a crown… a crown with a gem missing from the center…

Opening up the golem and deactivating it, Lusuir took back out the red amulet and with careful fingers he removed the gem from the amulet. Then, with anticipation filling every bone in his body, he reinserted it into the crown.

It was a perfect fit!

But nothing happened…

Lusuir sighed… then another thought crossed his mind, and he placed the crown on his head…

“W-what the hell?”

It was Fubar’s voice! But coming from Lusuir’s mouth! Somehow Fubar had taken over Lusuir’s body, leaving the prince to merely watch on, as if through the window of his eyes, as Fubar tried his best to figure out what had happened.

He saw the arena, he saw the golem, he saw the torn form of Lahboura, and didn’t understand a shred of what was going on…

Luckily Lord Winuir, Prince Lusuir’s father, had been watching from the stands and had seen what had happened, and being that this was all his idea in the first place he fully understood everything.

“Fubar? Is that you?”

“Y-yes… what’s going on?”

“Take the crown off from your head…”

“Um… ok…” Hands went up, removed the crown, and then froze as Lusuir once again took control of his body.

“It worked!” Winuir said with a smile.

“Yeah… it worked…” Lusuir responded a little less enthusiastically.

The price… Lahboura had always said it would bring back Fubar, but for a price, and now Lusuir understood what she had meant.

For a quick moment Winuir tried to put on the crown, but nothing happened. As they feared it only worked when worn by Lusuir.

Over the next few days, as the crowds cleared out and left, Lusuir and his father debated the options. Lusuir was depressingly determined that this is what he wanted and that he would make up his dept to Fubar by giving him his body, but Winuir was not willing to lose his son, threatening even to steal away the crown and destroy it.

In the end they came to a compromise. For one year Lusuir would wear the crown and then for the next year he wouldn’t, basically sharing his body evenly with Fubar. But with that answered it lead to another question: what to do with the arena?

Two year ago they had come here with a quest. Over that time the quest had changed, even as they themselves bought the arena, but any way they looked at it their quest was over, and there was no longer reason to stay there. With this in mind, and the treachery of Lahboura still fresh in their minds, it came down to one option: close the arena… forever…

Why leave this arena of death open? Why leave it as a breading ground for evil? And what good could come from staying there? It was too remote of a location to change into Lord Winuir’s new palace, and at the same time Winuir’s old lands still remained and they had more than enough money to return and buy it back. So it was settled…

Gathering together everything of worth, it was all packed up and taken out towards the ships the would take them back to their homeland, and when they all exited out the mountain tunnel it was sealed with massive boulders that would keep anyone from entering again.

With his job done, Lusuir took a deep breath, enjoying the clean undefiled air, and then place the crown on his head.

In years to come people would still talk about the Arena of Death, and adventurers would endless search for the secret entrance to no avail. Such are legends and mysteries born, passed on by a barmaid… in long red gown…
