Cheers Red, much appreciated! Your blogs somehow passed me by so I'll take a look in a sec (retro Night Lords and Word Bearers have piqued my interest!).

Got a little work done on my Daemons today, finished assembling the chariots:



I went against what I originally said and used fine jeweller's chain, secured it in place with a bit of superglue. I tried a few other methods, but it didn't really work out, so I went ahead and used the real chains. I'm very pleased with the effect and I think that once painted and varnished, they wont be as fragile as I was concerned about anyway. The green stuff is where I did a minor amount of sculpting to show the chains piercing their flesh. Comments welcome as ever!

Afternoon chaps,

Bit of an update for you today...

I've finished both my Tzeentch Heralds! Tbh they were an absolute pain from assembly to painting and I'm glad they're done!! Had a bit of a mishap with varnishing (grrr), but I managed to salvage it with a wash of Devlan Mud (and a lot of swearing...). I think they turned out ok in the end, but this led to them being a little darker than I had intended. Enough waffle for now, let me know what you think:

My WIP Changeling! One of the few models from the new range, and the only Finecast model in my army. I chopped off the ridiculously spindly staff and replaced the equally ridiculous left arms with some proper ones (courtesy of the new Horror plastics). Not much left to do to him, apart from fixing up the appallingly poor quality "Finecast" sculpt...

I was thinking of doing a thousand sons sidecar with my TK chariots but on seeing your conversions I have changed my mind..

Keep going you are giving me lots of thoughts for my own daemon army. Not sure why you want finecack in the army though. Plenty of older robed minis about to use as a proxy made of nice metal..

Keep it up I always look forward to updates.

THe Heralds on chariots turned out great, I really like them!

As for the Changeling. Not that I don`t like the mini, but you should get hold of the hooded chaos oop fig with the rifle. He would be perfect

Tbh I thought I'd try it out and give it a chance! I actually really like the changeling model and as he's a newer release I thought he might translate well to finecast... sadly I was wrong! Finecast is indeed utter rubbish as everyone believes! That said, now that I've fixed him up and done a little conversion work to him, I really like him again! I guess that kinda answers your question really... See below for more!

I love that model Red, been looking out for one for a while actually. But he's gonna be pressed into service in my Death Guard instead! I was tempted to use either "Bird head" or "Moon head with mace" from the old range, but as I said above: I really rather like the Changeling model!

My next problem is this though: Which generation of Horrors to use? I've got a bunch of the older "big hand" models (the second iteration of them, not the earliest) and I also have a box of the new plastics. I really like both of them (although the plastics are a right pain to put together...). Given that I'll be using 2 units of Horrors, should I do both "old", both "new", or one of each? I'm tempted to do one of each and put the Changeling into the newer group (fits a bit better I guess), plus it would bridge the gap between old and new slightly, as I'm soon to be including a unit of the new Bloodcrushers. Hmmm choices choices!

Enough of my meaningless drivel for now, let me know if you guys have any thoughts!

As for the horrors. Mix and match! I do it all the time and it gives me a broader access of minis to choose from

Good advice there brother! I think that's exactly what I'll do! If there's any place for a varied mix of models, it's certainly in a Chaos Daemon army!
