Thread: Anyone played Bushido?

    Anyone played Bushido?

Just got the latest Wayland Games email with what looks like quite a cool fantasy feudal Japan game - Bushido. Lots of Samurai, monks, ninjas and funky-looking little gremlin monsters.

Has anyone come across it? Seems to have been out for about a month.

I saw the announcement and was quite excited by the concept, but then the models didn't really do it for me. I would be interested to hear of anyone who plays it and what it is like though, not going to rule it out.

Yes please! Someone post their experience! I think it looks very much worth it. The minis are very nice.

Or you all could take a chance and play it yourself. Just sayin'.

I'm putting in my order for the Cult starter set on Friday. I have to say the models look awesome for the most part.

That's fair. I'm reviewing the quickstart rules for a site so I'll at least get a game in with proxy minis. I've never had anything to do with pewter minis before though, I can't imagine they come up that well, although the pro-painted stuff on their website looks great.

    Re: Anyone played Bushido?

Little bit of thread-o-mancy here, but I didn't see any point in creating a new one. Six months later I can confirm the quality of the models produced by GCT has been consistently high, models have great detailing (at least equivalent to Malifaux, if not better in my opinion) and strong and consistent themes.
I've only played a few games, but they have been very fun, and are quite easy to pick up, with simple but engaging core mechanics, and each model has its own abilities that make strategy very important, particularly when playing one of the scenarios. Each faction has a very distinct play style too. Also you can contribute to the rules on their forums, as the main rules are a sort of 'living beta' at the moment, changes will be included in the main rulebook when it is published sometime this year.
If you are interested in the game/models, remember to like the facebook page here, we are getting previews for every 50 new likes.
I've got to say the team behind this game seem like great guys too, they are really committed to making a quality product and providing good service to the fans.
