Excellent army! I love the scourges. All of the conversions truly make it a unique army and allows it to stand out.

Its that time again! Not much done this week, only got a few hours hobby
Still, I had a bit of time to paint and got the Haemonculus to about 90% complete:
Still gotta do any metal-work, highlight the black armour and figure out what to do with the base. The idea is to coat the base in water-effect over black. The skulls would then be picked out in bone and the rocks I'm thinking grey. This should give the look of a subterranian cave that been flooded.
Here's hoping. Should get him 100% done next week. Then on to the rest of the army

Great conversion ! Really inspiring work with agenius use of bitz.
I must admit, i'm going to copy your work...
Nice work on the Haemonculus. I like the blue skin colour - looks suitably disturbing![]()
Steal what you like. Every time I start a new army I trawl the blogs and google for ideas. I doubt there are very many original ideas out there. Somewhere in the world someone else has had the same idea as you. Like I told Dez, I got the idea for my Warriors from his original version of his Incubi. The Wracks I can't claim either. Again a sift through the intornetz brought up and idea that I loved and had to use.
Share and share alike, that's what the hobby is all about

Apart from all those nice conversions, I really fell in love with your Scourges. Truly mazing models.
God this is a cool looking army!

Thanks Dasqueek and Morathi for the kind words.
I have a little update. Got to work on another Grotesque last night. Again, running low on bitz, I'll have to go out and buy another Spawn box to get the last Grot built. Anyway, heres what I got done:
For some reason this guy looks a little stumpy in the legs even tho he ends up the same height as the rest of the unit. Maybe once I green stuff the ankles it'll look better.

The conversions in this plog are absolutely top-notch. I particularly like the grotesques, since this is basically exactly what I was planning on doing to make mineIm glad to see that the conversion works scale wise. I keep thinking that the blade on your newest is far too big, but then I think nah! Far too cool!
My random painting log: HereBeDragons' Paintathon
Painting target 2012: 212 models. Number complete: 212 !!!!!!!!![]()
Models to paint this year (2013) so far: 266 Number complete: 16
New grotesque is cool, spawn is a much better idea than paying for the mono pose fine cast one! I also really like the blue-ish skin on the old haemie!
If you like what I've said please return the favour

So, do you ever have one of those times when you sit down to start a conversion and it just works? The parts all fall into place and every cut you make is in the right spot? I had that on friday night. So much so that it spawned a further 10 hours straight hobby
I'd been eying-off the new Medusae and Ur-Ghul models since they came out, thinkng 'I could do something with those...' Well in firday I said '****** it, I'm blowing my hobby budget for the month on a conversion I don't even need!'
Enough jabber. Here's the Haemonculus that I never intended to make but am SURE glad I did:
So happy with this new gribbly that I immediatly started painting the little bugger:
I got this far then started to fall asleep at the painting table and called it a night. What do y'all think?

What head is that?
I don't recognize it from any GW model I can think of?
Or are you a cheater?
I think that this is a Priest's head
Cool stuff. Fast painting.![]()

Perfect head for that model!
VenomBlood is correct. Rather expensive way to get a head for a model but it really paid off. It was just the crowning glory that pulled the whole thing together.
And no, not a cheater. Only army I've used non-gw stuff is for my Pre-Heresy Dark Anges. I grabbed the termi-scale robed legs from maxmin (or microart studios, I forget). This army is gonna be pure GW though.

That haemonculus conversion is all kinds of awesome
the head is just *perfect*. Bit expensive for a head, but it just works so well...
...I'm almost tempted to shamelessly steal that idea![]()
Wow, very nice Haemonculus. What parts did you use save for the priest's head?
The legs are from the Medusae, body/arms from the Ur-Ghul, left hand from a Ghoul, sword from an old Dogs of War regiment called Mengil's Manflayers, tubed from the Talos. The rest if just odds and ends from the bitz box.
The great thing was the legs, body and head fitted together like they were made to. I literally did one cut in each of the orginal models to get the part I wanted and they fit perfectly. I am definatly an advocate for Finecast

Great conversion again, but a little overpriced !!!
But I think the sword is really too wide for the thinness of this new mini... A copy built in plasticard (1mm) will look better. the ghoul hand look a bit oversized but it's not really important.
The flesh paint is really great...
Go !
Mornin' all. I've had a rather productive couple of weeks since my last post (at least by my painting standards). I've gotten most of the 1st Wrack unit completed, swapped out the giant sword on the new Haemi and finished both of the painted Haemis off.
The cool pallet that has kind of evolved by itself is working really well. I'm really happy that there are no warm colours in the army, its helps with the damp, cave-dwelling image I've got in my head.
Now that I have the scheme fot eh 'coven' units figured out I have to work out what to do with the Warriors, Trueborn and the Scourges. I'm not sure if I want to blend these units with the coven or have them stand out. A scheme that really sticks in my head is deep red armour with flayed-skin for robes. This would look great as an army but combined with my coven units I thing its too much of a contrast.
Can anyone link me to the Kabalite Warrior painter that I've seen used around the place? If I can do a few mock-ups and post them here I'd really like the feed back.
anyway, hope you enjoyed this installment of The Wonderful World of Flesh and be sure to tune in next week. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel
PS: I have noticed that the pics aren't that great. Thats what you get for relying on a phone camera
