Awesome Scourges! I really need to get some of those.
Awesome Scourges! I really need to get some of those.
Amazing work. My only thoughts are that the hideous daemonette heads subrtract from the awesomeness of the conversions.
See I really think they actually add to the idea. I get the image of this particlular flock of scourges wanting to look like screeching harpies rather than birds. Also the hair whipping out to the side and behind the models really adds to the impression of movment or being in a high airy swept by the wind.
I will admit tho, some of the faces do have a slightly 'hit-by-truck' fell to them. Like a dog who chases parked cars

I've been working a little on the paint scheme. I'm going with the obligitory purple as a main colour. On the Coven stuff (wracks, grots, haemis and engines) it'll be purple, almost black, robes and very pale flesh. All the swords/blades will be from bone with a green tinge to the edge to show poisen. The Kabal stuff I want to tie in but not be the same. Was thinking purple armour and flayed skin for robes. Same colour flesh wherever its shown. Also tossing up bone armour for the warrirors and trueborn.
I'll get my ass in gear and start to paint at least some test models soon

Lovely themed army so far!
GOTA
Alright, so I had a 'sick day' yesterday and got a bit of painting done. Now its nothing fancy but I think I've finally got a paintscheme I'm happy with. Here's a few test models I've done trying out different themes.
This is the first scheme I came up with and I was pretty happy with it for a while but the skin tone never really caught me. The purple robes I'm very happy with and will be keeping them for the rest of the army. I may go a bit lighter on the high-lights.
This skin tone I got off the Masterclass guid for Manfred von Carstine. It looked a lot better and creepier in the guid. For me at looks, oddly considering its a vampire felsh tone, too healthy, hehe.
This is the flesh tone I've ended up going with. Again this is taken from the Manfred Masterclass but its used for the spirits off his cloak rather than his skin. I think this with the purple robes should work really well.
Damn, very average pictures. well, hope the idea gets across. Let me know what you think.

The last one for sure. It looks fantastic.
Very creative conversion work, and as somebody already mentioned, very characterful. Your army ties together very well.
I have a similar problem from another angle, I'm planning on using a few haemies (and probably no wracks due to their finecastness) in a kabal army - so I need to make them visually synchronous with kabalites, yet different enough to be clearly haemies. I have the same "old" haemie as you do, with the long gun. Thinking of whether I should do a headswap into the "reaver mask" for it... Not sure how the two scale together, but happily since they are haemies, scale isn't that big an issue.![]()
awesome stuff mate, as soon as I saw the pain engines I wrote a list pretty identical to how yours is looking... I'll not be buying any of it though as I am very poor and never play 40k really!
I am very glad to have found someone working on a coven army, and one of such high quality too
more please, much much more please

sweet army you got same idea iv been toying with. really nice conversions and time you are putting in, great work
with your Scourges what finecast kit you using for the legs?

The legs are from finecast Mandrakes.
And I really like the scourges poses as well!
Stunning conversions, I really like them, you took those miniatures digested them with awesome juice and processed them into an array of great conversions, really look like they've crawled out from a Haemonculus' lair.
And I'm definitely pinching an idea, or two, and potentially three :P
Sooooo awesome. Now paint it! Paint it! Paint it!!!!
Thanks again all for the kind words. Noone got the names though. Was playing around with the idea that this coven had a thing for numbers and couting so as the Haemis gained influence they would take on a new name; hence Tu, Zree, Phor and Seffan. Not sure what happened to the other two guys, they may turn up in the future.
Now, because Seville was so nice in asking, here's the start of the painting!
Here is a group shot of the Reviled (Wrack unit 1) They have the first 2 layers of skin tone done. I hate batch painting so I'm amazed I even got this far in one sitting.
As well as being brain-numbed by painting a full unit at once I got disctracted by getting this guy's skin finished and strating on a few of the other colours. Note, the robes only have a base coat. I give you Isvail Phor:
I'll be getting some more time to piant this weekend. Hopefully I'll either get Isvail finished or atleast get the skin on the Wracks finished.
