    Void Stalker cover

http://www.blacklibrary.com/ has put up the cover for Aaron Dembski-Bowdens next Night Lord book, and its rather fantastic if you ask me. And an extract is promised for tomorrow.

Nice, though not a fan of the name.
Lion: Hey Russ, you'll never guess what!
Russ: Yeah, I know! Magnus is a traitor! To think that he could accuse our beloved brother Horus of turning against us. Impossible! But don't worry. I have taken care of it, Horus asked me to destroyed Prospero and I have. Magnus shouldn't be bothering us again.
Lion: ... actually, I was going to say that Magnus was right. Horus has turned to Chaos, 7 other Legions have joined him and he has destroyed 3 Loyal Legions already!

The whole concept--sans gun, obviously--has been done in Detective and Batman comics for ages now.... but I must admit that for this particular subject matter, it does look nifty and captures the essence of the whole story.
We make the games we want with the fluff we prefer and the models we own, as much as we please.

I just had to quote this!

    Re: Void Stalker cover

I was totally expecting it to be in a brass-tint rather than teal, to complete the Night Lords colour scheme with the other two (blue and red), but still awesome art.

I like the name. They should be (Chaos) Space Marine Chapters: The Soul Hunters, Blood Reavers and Void Stalkers. Sound badass.
"As our bodies are armoured with adamantium, our souls are protected with loyalty. As our bolters are charged with death for the Emperors enemies, our thoughts are charged with wisdom. As our ranks advance, so does our devotion, for are we not space marines? Are we not the chosen of the Emperor, his loyal servants unto death?"

ADB has some higher resolution versions on his blog page and some high level thoughts on the last book of the series, looks fantastic.

I am such a fanboy in fact, it seems I am planning out a small Night Lords force...

You know, it was announced as a Night Lords novel so why people were expecting an "Eldar fleet novel" or just Eldar protagonists in general is beyond me.

Because the "Void Stalker" is the premiere Eldar Battleship.

It's kind of like naming a book "Angels of Death" and then being confused why everything thinks it's about Space Marines when actually it's about female guardswomen or something equally unrelated.

I repeat, it was announced as a Night Lords novel.

It not even nearly the same thing. Void stalker from the obscure game Battle Fleet Gothic? Compared to Angels Of death?

Children, children... The novel will feature Eldar. The Night Lords are quite piratical; they're raiders, and there has been plenty of void battle goodness in the previous two novels. I imagine that this Void Stalker will feature heavily in some important aspect, it may even be the ship that showed up to attack the Night Lords when they persued M'shen.
I am currently looking to shift a sizeable amount of Chaos Space Marine models, including Dark Vengeance Cultists/Chosen/Helbrute/Lord, Fantasy Chaos Knights, a Dark Apostle, Fantasy (Finecast) Chaos Lord, Warp Talons, Possessed and painted models with Forge World parts. Send me a message if you're interested!
