    Imperial Guard Gorgon Assault Vehicle

I have in my possession 5 of the classic Imperial Guard Gorgons, as pictured below. Along with 2 Basilisks, these are the only Guard models I have. I have an Ork army and a Marine army, and have decided that I could use the Basilisks as Ork Oddboy Big Gunz, but wanted opinions on what the Gorgons could be used for. I was thinking maybe Battle Fortresses, though they look a little slow for that.

What do people think, and failing finding a use for them in my Ork army, are there any Guard players interested in a trade?

i think they would work as just about any heavy tank in an ork army, for friendly game you could even use them as actual gorgons - looted of course.
    "six shots."

I agree with the looted gorgon idea. Other than that I'd also go for heavy transport tank of some sort.

    RIP Brimstone.
I used to read the GW Other Forum, but I am much happier now.

A looted Gorgon would be kinda cool!

If proxying / friendly gaming isnt your thing - then maybe convert them into some kind of stompa? Or as has been said above the Battlefortress idea is solid.

Thanks guys. I'm looking at the idea of Looted Gorgons at the moment, rules exactly as the guard version, but switch Heavy Stubbers for Big Shootas, and Mortars for Lobbas, (but keep the stats for Mortars the same), though considering increasing the speed by 5cm to allow them to better keep up with the other vehicles, but either reduce save to 5+ or drop the reinforced armour to compensate?

ACK! That's a pricey conversion if you plan to hack into it. Might as well make Termites into nipples on your Gargant.

Heavens no! Just gonna use the model as is and tweak the stats - it's not like there that great a degree of detail on the weapons anyway.

If I remember correctly, those old Gorgons are a lot smaller than a Battle Fortress. I'd stick them in a Blood Axe Clan and use them as Battlewagonz, maybe bolt on a big shoota somewhere.

Edit: I see that you have labelled them MkII. I do not remember that release at all.

    My two cents,

You're right, they are labelled MkII, but not by me. I found the Pic online. And if that were MKII, I'd really wonder what the MKI looked like!

I have a few in a box somewhere. I'll try to take a picture of them for comparison.

Think the MK I was open-topped, a little bit like the current FW version.

I was sure the one in the image I posted is actually the MKI, and it should given when I bought them, and the MKII was the open topped one, looks like a digger with a large dozer blade.

Yes, those are definitely the MK1.

The open topped ones are the MK2.
