Dark's Intended Bastion of change (Tzeentch fortress)

Ok so i would like to share my intended idea which i have made a small start on but will be a big undertaking to finish up. So i would like to show roughly what i have on the following picture i drew up roughly to give a idea of size and scope of the fortress. As you can also see i have put a lighter sketch around the whole fortress to show its kinda in the formation of the patron god Tzeentch.

I have already purchased a fortress, but will need to purchase another and individual sections to bulk out the wall sections with. Next i will purchase the manor house and chapel set with additional chapel and manor for different aspects to portray within the bastion.

I have already started work on the portal for summoning troops from the vast expanse that is the chaos wastes, it needs some more work but getting there.

It my temple of skulls which i have started some conversion work to not as much as i would like but its getting there, thought i would have it in primer already but have abit more work till it gets there yet.

ok time to post some pics of the progress, with the temple of skulls now in primer painting should begin fairly soon (i hope ). OK so time to post some pics of the portal i mentioned earlier on in this log.

It is still wip however slowly getting there, i need some more materials to finish the first stages of the conversion then green stuffing will begin......

The portal is a very clever idea and looks fairly simple to do. I like that it is circular rather than a boring door with stars in it as shown in white dwarf last year.

Your fortress sketches aren't particularly inspiring though, especially seeing as they're dedicated to tzeentch. I'd point you toward this log for what I personally would expect from tzeentchian architecture:http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196102

If it seems like it's something that would be beyond your current skill level then start small. Herdstones, altars, monoliths etc would all be good practice for building and greenstuffing some crazy tzeentch buildings. Don't be discouraged though, just don't let your ideas overtake your ability or else it will end up demoralising you.

I appreciate your links and comments storm crow very good stuff that i will keep and look over for further ideas, and yeah the sketches don't provide much detail but thought i would put them up as a rough guide to show the intended plan. The portal is not entirely finished yet but yeah wasnt overly difficult to build to the pictured point thus far.

As for the actual buildings them selves I have started the fortress walls by green stuffing some torsos and faces contourting out of the stone. Almost like the stone is living and is being manipulated by Tzeentch themself the manor and other buildings will be done in a similar manner to this with a living twisting manipulating theme to it. This also in fitting with the army feel as well.

Will post some pics of the wall sections done so far in a following post for reference.

Ok so here is what i have done to the fortress walls so far, im looking at them and thinking of elongating the green stuff work abit to make it seem more exaggerated on the faces and torsos etc....

Here is one of the gates, unsure if this will be front or back at this point.

The front gate will be very exaggerated with decorative items once i get around to building my board and fixing the buildings in place.

Also i intend on doing a very dark stone affect and light blue hue from between the stones again reflecting the taint of Tzeentch as the force emanating from within.

Thanks Tzarinchilla i hoped a fellow Tzeentch player that you are might like it and hope it lives up to your expectations .

Thought i would show the progress as stated the sketches are abit hard to get the overall concept from and explain the living structure and manipulating nature that is Tzeentch.

I had passing thoughts as to what a Tzeentch fortress might look like and from liber chaotica Tzeentch was able to come up with some ideas, which lead to what is in the pics.

@ N810 lol i never was good with them even when i was at school , but i was going through a office supplies store and found them and thought up the idea on the arcane ruins (also from watching too much stargate) but was looking around to find something that could suit the scale of most of the models as well as be easy to work if i need to chop and change it so plastic protractor .

Have actually just bought afew more to finish mock up on the portal piece so pics shortly i hope

Ok update time and some pics have only managed to work on the portal and its still wip but drawing closer to complete mock up before green stuffing begins. So here goes the portal with additional touches....

The other broken pillar is yet to be added and i need to fill over the inner side of the one attached, then finally mock up is done then green stuffing will begin lol but should turn out alright.

So getting there slowly still alot of work to be done but its coming together now, soon it will be in primer then its all down hill from there .

Will also try and get the temple of skulls painted up fairly soon as i have laid the base coat so afew more things to do and it will hopefully be finished off.

Portal looks sweet, I did a similar thing with my WOC Warshrine but it was tiny compared to this!!!

Love the scultping around the outside of the portal as well.

@ Colonel Cleric thanks mate like hearing positive comments , Yeah i have seen your warshrine great minds think alike . This piece is going to be part of a much bigger terrain piece as mentioned at the start of this log.

The scuplting has taken a fare bit of time just to get it to what you see in the pic done, as i would do about 3 outer stones at a time let that cure and set, then do some more when i got time. I was even surprised at how far the model had come from the bare bones beginning.
