    Rousing the Brayherd

    Hello all,

A quick written intro before pics in the not too distant future!

Some of you may know me from the 40k plog section, as I have only ever focused on 40k and primarily Marines. As much as I love them I decided a week ago to go for something completely different, something other than giant, super human, shooty space men, and after about 2 minutes looking at what the choices were, I settled on Goat People, more commonly known as Beastmen!!

I am not going to go over the top on the size of the force, as they are only for show, rather than gaming. But I thought a plog may help me keep up with the work!

Anyway, thanks for reading, and look forward to the (hopefully) many comments I will get once some pics are up!

Thanks for the vote of confident Alexos

    ------------------------

Well here's my first picture update, it's a W.I.P update, and it's taking a lot longer to paint than I thought. But hopefully the main part of the colour scheme will show.

I am going for a real overall dark look.

    First up, the shield:

    Back:

And a close up of the base, a gravel/snow look:

    Thanks for looking.
    Any feedback appreciated.

It's a tad difficult to see the details, but I think that'll be cleared up when this is finished. He looks good so far, looks like he worships Kharnath.

Always good with more beastmen. I think it needs some light details, all that dark looks good individually, but on the table top it may end up as a dark blob. :/

    Fizzy - Thanks

Momus - I say small, but yeah you're probably right!!

Mrtn + Alexos - the brown will be highlighted again, so overall will be lighter. I don't think the pictures helped though, the camera just seemed to make the model a dark smudge!

    Thanks for looking everyone!

    Re: Rousing the Brayherd

    Hello all.

Finally an update! Unfotunately I don't get an awful lot of painting time, so it will probably be a nce a week update type plog!

But anyway, I have managed to finish the first Gor, the 'test mini' if you will.

Overall, being my first fantasy mini, I am pretty pleased. Certainly some area's that could be improved, but I am by no means a great painter, and this is probably about my limit!!

    C+C as always.

I thikn tat the flesh is a bit stark in it's contrast. The skin tone contrasts to much with the shading in-between the muscles of the Gor.

Yeah, that was the look I was going for, and was the part I was most pleased with! And on par with GW's scheme to http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_...d2_445x319.jpg

Not going to be to everyone's tastes though!

It's looking very nice. Have you thought about some dead static grass for the base?

I think that the trophy rope on the shield should be some other colour than metal.
