I bring you.... Ultraorks!

Hey hey Warseerites.

Latest project which has got me hooked, Ork Marines, Ultraorks for short!

This army of orks is based upon a highly experienced Blood Axe tribe whom have been massively experimented upon increasing their intelligence to the equivalent of Space Marines.

They idolise the Ultramarines after witnessing the potential for superior training, planning and tactics used in war.

The army list will be based on the following models:

HQ:

Morkneus Kalgork (Marneus Calgar)
3-10 Honour Guard (depending on whats needed)

Master of the Forge w/ conversion beamer

Elite:

3 Dreadnoughts (variety of CC Weaponry and ranged)

Troop:

10 Taktic Ultraorks w/ Rhino transport
10 Taktic Ultraorks w/ Rhino transport
Possibly a 3rd squad

5 Scouts w/ Telion squad upgrade, 3 snipers and missile launcher

Fast:

10 Speedy Ultraorks (Assault Marines)

Heavy:

Devastator Squad

Morkneus' Rayda (Land Raider)

Ironclad Dreadnought w/ CC weaponry and H.Flamers

Any help on names for units/sergeants would be much appreciated and CC on the overall army welcomed as usual.

The models will all be converted using as many marines pieces as I can find, Tactical squads having backpacks/shoulderpads and correct weapons etc.

All models will be painted will Ultramarine blue to unify the army and will include Ultramarine-esque iconography

I have only converted a few models so far but will leave a few sneak peek photos until I get the rest created.

Update!



Spent this morning putting a Dreadnought together, I think it looks a lot better in person, will try and get some better pictures.

Yeh, its made out of a killa kan and a storm boy with a predator lascannon turret strapped to the side of it, I have heavy bolters and another lascannon/autocannon dreadnought to make and then the huge ironclad dread which should look intimidating

No Termies as of yet, just honour guard, hard enough to get most of the conversions sorted and I dont think Im capable of creating full termie-ish armour for the orks as of yet.

Ill check out ya orcs, need to get up here and have a game of 40k, I need to know how to play the game again!

God knows what to do with round based troops. the best i know of that is using fanatics with my gobbos! lol im off to game at vets night with my orc and gobbo army. dreading it. Did you think of turning ghazgul thraka into marneus

thought about it, then realised Ive spent too much on what I already have so Im turning it all into a list I can play and within my converting skill.

Ill have to get round to digging out the warriors of chaos as well then to get some fantasy games done, cant remember where im at with them atm.

got Dark Eldar, Grey Knights, Necron and now these Ork/Marines to contend with and thats before fantasy, I should hide my wallet.

Another update.

Completed the ironclad dreadnought!

Chainfist/Heavy Flamer + Dreadnought CC Weapon/Heavy Flamer for ultimate scorching!!!

Converted it so there is a dude inside it, hopefully ill learn how to take better pictures again because these fail, you get the idea though

Its a standard Nob using 2 power claws, I just attached storm bolters from a few grey knight spares to the guns and tried to make him look a little badass, hopefully the paintjob will make him stand out a little more as the 'Chapter Warboss' as of yet I have only painted 1 of his fists

You could've made a Marneus Calgar Ork, walking on all four with his power fists, oozing of stompiness. Still, good stuff.
