    Those are nice models, the Ashigaru's spear and rifle look a tad Chinese though.

    Speaking of Bushido, I did get the Prefecture of Ryu starter set for my birthday. Not sure if I mentioned it already. In any case, I'm going to build this stuff next.

    Ronin is quite similar in some ways, and VERY different in others. There's only a handful of mythical options (That come from PDFs), though it's more in the heroic history with larger than life characters. Bushido is about the same scale, but it's got more of a fantasy base to it.

    There's also the basing differences with Bushido using 30mm and Ronin using 25mm...though that can be worked through rather easily.

    @Astraeos

    I agree on both points.

    @SotF

    Thanks for that info! I will be using 20mm square bases for both so they can go in my main army. Is there much different in terms of rules and game mechanics?

    Arduhn carves out an empire in Nippon.

    I have been busy, in spite of my lack of activity here. I'm getting a collection of terrain together, and I plan to paint up a couple buntai for Ronin.

    After that, I want to work my way up to a Japanese retinue for Lion Rampant.

    Anyway, here's some pics.

    Edit: forgot to mention, the terrain and bases will eventually be winter themed.

    That's a nice looking collection of scenery!
    Now that 8th is gone and we have Age of Sigmar, will you still be building an army for use in either version of Warhammer?

    Re: Arduhn carves out an empire in Nippon.

    I actually have a GW Empire army (Averland), a Dark Elf army (mostly still in boxes), and an Orcs & Goblins army (maybe half assembled).

    I was working towards getting my Averland army up to a 3000 points fully painted force, but when AoS dropped, and I learned that Warhammer Fantasy was not going to be supported anymore, it really took the wind out of my sails.

    My group is currently trying out different games, and trying to decide what to play long term, but there has been a huge drop off in number of players, and how regularly everyone shows up.

    In the end, we'll probably start playing either 9th Age or Kings of War. A few guys want to make AoS work, and they're still hoping a points system is on the horizon, but they are outnumbered by those of us who don't want to touch it with a ten foot pole.

    I still have all the miniatures for this army, and I have no plans to sell them off. Once I have a Lion Rampant sized force, I'll most likely keep working towards a Kings of War/9th Age/8th Ed sized army.

    I made a big hill.

    This one is still drying, but I was pretty excited to show it off. I also picked up a 6'x4' alpine F.A.T. Mat. I'll have to get a picture with all the finished terrain on the mat.

    I've got more terrain that is built, but needs paint. I'm trying to get motivated to paint models too, but Total War is making it difficult to find the time. Aside from that, I keep going back and forth between the samurai and Averland empire...
