Glad I bought 4 Battalions from GW last month... phew!
All seems to be very good, the addition of a save from the Gut Plate is a welcome change, and makes Iron Guts have a respectful 4+, and Bulls can also have the same if they take Light Armour and Iron Fists. This is very good!
Ogre Clubs rule sounds like a winner, and makes sense.
Leadbelchers are now going to be an auto-include, just hope that the unit cap is lifted, same goes for Iron Guts.
Yhetees, with 2 hand weapons is the way to go, Greatweapons are nice, but Yhetees are taken for their high Initiative, so no point.
Really Looking forward to this, and I hope to have my Ogres painted in time.
The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.
If the Halfling Cookbook grants Loremaster now, do we think this means Butchers won't know all the spells as before...?
Seems that way, but we may also get access to some of the Rulebook Lores... I'm guessing Fire, and Beasts.

Yeah, it seems pretty sure that the Ogre Magic gets overhauled completely. With the info Bill-Boe provided, there are a few augments (maybe with a powered up version for area buffs, like Lore of Light), and surely one or more damage spells.
And Ironguts ignoring Parry will be just awesome, it was weird anyways. Take the top of a garbage can and try blocking that approaching truck. good luck at that... (Mordheim solved this problem quite well, no parry versus attacks with doubled strength)
A few more rumours from over at the Stronghold:
Maneaters have massive point drop, and even more crazy weapon options. Can take a Special Character champion (Golgfag).
New Cauldron-altar rare unit for butchers, no new model.
Greasus now LD10 and completely rewritten (Stats, rules and items similar to Gorbad Ironclaw).
Question.
Are all references to Dogs of War removed from the new book? Or is there any rumor or idea out there that maybe some Ogre units will be available to other armies again?
I'd love to be able to put some ogre bulls or ironguts in my greenskin army again.
Don't know why, but I read that as Cauldron-born, and was briefly intrigued, realized it made little sense for the army, then realized the word was altar.
Anyway, it should be easy enough to either canabalize Skragg's cauldron, scratch build one, or steal one from somewhere. Maybe use some of the new scraplauncher kit if its supposed to be mobile.
The ogre mercenary rule seems unlikely. GW does currently like its self-contained books.
Read the rules, or the owl will eat you.
All it means is that the GW guy wants him to spend more on Bulls after they jack up the price with the new release.
Because they are for team games and he would have to play as two players with two separate armies which also means spending even more money.
Good point. I can see that happening too and it would be great. Fire magic for the 'Firemaster' eh?
Played a Storm of Magic game last weekend with a Truthsayer in my Ogre army. The Beasts Cataclysm spell giving +1 S and +1 T for the whole army was amazing!
I'm wondering if Ogre Bull hordes will still be effective with the new army book...
I also felt that at the time the wood elf army book was very good (admittedly it has dated now thanks to edition change) - so its only deamons counting against Matt Ward.
I would also register surprise at the rumour that Ogres stay the same in points, but I do think the command group will at least go a a reasonable value, and the unit does gain more than it loses. I would be thinking closer to 30 points than 35 however.
I'm guessing that Bull Hordes will be a bit more effective in the new book, GW after all want people to buy more models. As Gut Plates are granting a 6+ save, add in light armour, Ironfist and in combat they have a 4+ save, parry, and ignore enemy parry's.
Awesome!
Bulls are going to take their rightful place I think as the best Monstrous Core Infantry in the game.

Those do indeed seem very plausible. That said, the Tomb Kings got Death and Light and if you look at the SOM spinner, Nekehara falls under Death and Light. Extrapolating from that, one could surmise that as Gutmagic falls under Beasts and Light, those are the Lores we can expect.
That said, Heavens also seems like a possibility as well with the whole Great-Maw-As-Comet connection. We shall see.
... and then I won.
