My Slaaneshi warriors, in PURPLE!
Armoured Might! The Temurian CXII project log
Sometimes I actually do stuff and occasionally even take pictures of the result.
You could just use them as champions of the "cat riders" units.
Speaking of them, real Sabertooths did have problems eating with their teeth so its not unreasonable to have such ott tusks on these ones.
They remind me of prehistoric wolf-like creatures like Andrewsarchus, who had hooves despite being carnivores.
From what I can see these models are making me very jealous that I don't have an ogre army. But ogre and beastmen have similar armor, so its only a matter of time before I can think of a good conversion.
My Slann has killed in combat:
1 Vampire lord on steed
1 Vampire Lord on foot
Is the new cannon just grape shot then or does it have a primary fire mode? Also does this S10 grapeshot work in the same way as normal i.e. artillery dice number of shots then roll to hit?
don't worry no disappointment here on the T8 count it's my opponent who has ogres
EDIT: Also any idea if the giant 'cats' can be taken as character mounts, should give a use for those FW rhinox riders in that case.

That scraplauncher makes me happy
I think it will look great next to the old one: not too different in style but very much another original gnoblar made contraption. By definition it will be easier to assemble than the old one (a task I was not looking forward to repeat) and I just love the concept and want to be able to field two. The rest of the new stuff needs to sink in a bit, but the release is a win for me just because of the launcher!![]()
I didnt hear anything about "catoxes" being able to be taken as mounts for characters.
As for cannon thingy- grapeshot is just an extra feature, apart from that is move and fire cannon mounted on a rhinox, perhaps with a different misfire table (that would make sense) and maybe some extra rule.

Yabba Dabba Doo!
This is a good release for the ogres.. *if* GW doesn't decide that the pricing on the rest of the range needs to suddenly and randomly double like they did with the orc release.
For once, a release that is basically entirely monsters is welcome, since the ogres should be all about big prehistoric creatures.
The ogres were a bit lacking in terms of the number of different units they had access to, so it's good to see that this release adds 4 extra ones to the list.
If you play any of Mantic's games, check out my Battlescribe project for KoW and Warpath.
Well, seems my next army is set then.
The Hunter on Stonehorn looks ace, as does the Mammox. (Love the "Catch that!", aka the thrown bear trap as well as the hanging soldier!) The Catox Cavalry is ok, I guess, but there are FW's beautiful Rhinox riders if any doubts exist.
Oh yes, the Scraplauncher! No more suicides following assembly attempts with the metal one! Skyblaster is a nice idea as well, some hint at the Sky Titans is good, here's hope that there is more of their technology!
I've never cared much for ogres, but these kits are quite nice. I wouldn't start an army but I might buy a few for bound beasts/DE beast conversions/etc.
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only British.

I hope that Bretonnia will be redone soon.
I'd love to see what great models GW will have in store for them.
I do get a little Star Wars flashbacks looking at the mighty Mammox(?) with lance, but love the models, the cavalry is nice, although I love the FW models better. This year is proving pretty hard on my GW budget... and we still have a few months left!
Thanks. Hope it is actual stone and not grey skin as that would lead to a good Armour save for the Ironblaster ?
Thanks.
A cannon, stone thrower that moves and shoot, ogre handguns, harpoon, swinging bear traps, sharp stuff, leadbelcher missile weapons and bolt throwers.
What next, I wonder - an Ogre cheese grater from the Butcher's kitchen?
From an army that is vulnerable to shooting, Ogres now have a full gunline option! I'm not sure I like that.
Warhammer Tactica 8 - 298 pages of unique tactics. Available on Kindle or a better copy direct from me
@ Deathless- you have to remember those shooty options will be quite expensive though. Saying that you are right, ogres pack some shooting now. That plus breath weapon (oh.. did I mentiond breath attack for one of the characters?) and it becomes quite a neat combination. Plus leadbelchers will be more reliable now as well (no autohitting though)

Sorry for clarification I was referencing two different kits, the stonehorn is the monster with the two different single riders pictures 1 and 2 so don't know about the Ironblaster which is the HUGE cannon pulled by the rhinox but eastern barbarian has already said no T8 for the stonehorn so maybe it'll get a scaly skin save?

So much for the supposed we will not see anything until the next WD! GW obvioulsy have sercurity leaks! haha
Oh Pyrovore, you're like the Eeyore of 40K
Well now i want to see some Yhetees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, now we know what all the good monster sculptors were doing while Trish was making the Storm of Magic disasters.
Of all the threads in all the forums in all the world you had to post into this one.
Damn, these are pretty cool.
still not a fan of ogre cavalry, but the models are lovely nonteheless
Kabalite, I think you might be dissapointed then, although I don't know that one for sure, but there were no news of new Yheetees (apart from dropping in cost significantly gamewise)

Am liking the look of the new Scraplauncher/Big Cannon kit.
While the actual beasts and riders aren't bad on the Cavalry, I hate the way the riders are seated, it looks like they're going to fall off any second. I would have preferred it if the riders were closer to the beasts rather then on big separate saddles.
Not too keen on the Stonehorn's face. Looks like an undead creature with an exposed skull to me. Also not liking the Mammox's head, looks a little too Khemrian for me.
Maybe they'll grow on me though, will have to see how convertable they are...
The beasts are wonderful! There isn't a one I dislike.
A bit of a shame they're Ogres as I don't care for the GW Ogre models...but still...some very nice stuff.
