    Edit============================================== ==

I recently came back from travelling around Europe for 3 months on a climbing trip, needless to say upon my arrival home I am very very low on funds, so I thought I'd give painting for profit a proper go. I'd dabbled in it before going away, but never gone balls deep so to speak, anyway here's the stuff I've painted up since last tuesday, if anyone's interested in how I did any of it please feel free to ask for recipes etc, or equally if you've got any constructive criticism bring it on by the bucket load, I'm always looking to improve so it's all welcome!

I'm going to be keeping this thread updated with all of the fantasy which I'm working on, and I'll make one over in the 40k section as well.

Like I said it's all on ebay, so if you're interested here's a link :Ebay Linky

a Quick rundown of the kits: all were brilliant barring 2 -typical of the ridiculous quality with which GW have been leading the industry with their plastic kits, in particular the dark elf dragon and sorc were a complete pleasure to assemble and paint, and I think the sorc is one of my favourite individual char models ever!

    Having said that...

    a) Minor(ish) problem with the big skull throne piece - it's a bit of a ball-ache to construct the lower column, I had to leave it drying with about 5 elastic bands around it, and it was much more fiddly than I was expecting.

    b) The Cockatrice (**Yes, another person moaning about finecast**)

Not impressed, I don't see why you would ever choose to use this over their plastics, on which the detail is amazing, filth from the moulding process all over it, miscasted sections which made construction really difficult. This is only my experience of one model but given the option I'd never choose this over their plastics ever, 'nuff said.

    Enough babble, here's the pics:

    Again any questions/comments/crits always welcome!

    Cheers for looking,

    ~Byronic

Very nicely painted. I think you'll do quite well on eBay. I particularly like your eternal stair and magewrath throne. Everything looks awesome but those two are my favourites. I'll look them up on eBay.

You have some awesome stuff here, I especially like the Chimera. Really good to have such a random model look so coherent and brought together with the painting scheme.

If I had to give some criticism it would be that in a couple of areas some of the paint jobs are a little flat, for example the gold on the throne and the vortex holding up the chaos star fulcrum. I think both could use just a little more definition by a using a light wash or another set of highlights.

However even without that you have some mighty fine models there and I am sure they will do very well on ebay for you.

Wow, simply superb stuff right here!
My only crit would be, you should have green stuffed in the joints on some of the models, doesnt take anything away from the stunning painting, but would just fully complete the model IMO

Most of it looks pretty good - I really like your Eternity Stair and the skin on the Sorceress is excellent.

One question - why is the Cockatrice so...eh...gooey? It seems a bit random and really takes away from the overall effect for me.

Re: Byron's Ebay WiPs - Lots of Storm of magic! *Pic Heavy*

Thanks for the feedback guys The eternity stair sees to be a bitof a favourite (most watchers on eBay, but not as high bids as the throne) which I'm really glad about, it took a while to paint because of the details, so I'm glad it was worth it.

I'll keep you updated as to how it all goes of course.

I'm working on the gaps thing, I've been assembling and painting so fast I don't have time for greenstuff to dry (no seriously!), apparently there's a fast drying humbrol alternative that's kind of like milliput and can be sanded(? anyone with any knowledge on this would be very appreciated )

@ Loveless, when I finished the model I had issues with how evil it's facial expression and pose were, and how bright and happy the colour scheme was (I chose to paint it in this scheme so my bad there ) so I thought I'd give it some gore to go with the evil of it's eyes and beak, the cameras made it look more flat than it is in real life, where it's got ore depth, for some reason I've always had issues with red and green on my camera :S

Cheers regarding the sorc, I came upon a new recipe for the skin out of pure luck and am really pleased with it, I used liche purple in every mix of colours on the odel so I put a bit in the skin, and that's seemed to have made it pale but still fleshy without having the normal 'it's just pink' problem that I've had before

Fingers crossed I'll be starting on some commissions soon guys, we'll see how it all goes ^_^

Your paintwork is great. As for Finecast, why oh why did they have to switch? Some of the SoM stuff looks amazing (the Cockatrice really does), and I can't have any part to do with it because I just hate Finecast so much. Ah well.

No worries, if I can help someone paint their minis by sitting around and doing what I'd be doing anyway then it's been a day well spent! get on it

the link to "User CP" on the top-most bar is the control panel. Options are off to the left, & you want Settings & Options (third category down) Which has Edit Signature.

    Good looking stuff.

Having seen the dark elf sorceress last night i can say its one of the best plastic models ever.
Its so understated it really is fantastic. I really like the paint job you have done on it, fits perfectly.
    Well done!

Byron the work is superb, I like a lot the fulcrums, (if you don't mind I will copy the throne scheme)
the sorceror looks great, and the cocatrice looks ill (that is great it looks like it should look).

the chimera is an ugly sculpt so not a fan of the miniature but it has a great paint job
