I may well take you up on that time permitting, thanks for the feedback!

    Important question guys!:
Do you think my Garden of Morr would gain me more profit sold separately or all in one?
(And if separately how should I do it? e.g. one for buildings, one for fences etc?)

    Thoughts really appreciated on this!

    Terrorgheist:
More questions! (What type of base would show him up best? I'm thinking classic GW with dark rocks, not entirely sure though) Still some washing down of the skin to do to add depth, and of course his rider.

All of your feedback/answers of any type very much appreciated!

Everything looks ace. I have a question about your terrorgheist, did you paint the inside muscle before you finished putting it together, and how did you paint the muscle? Thanks, and I look forward to seeing more!

Crikey, you paint fast! The terrorgheist's looking brill - sure it'll be an easy sell once complete!

I think you might get more selling the garden of morr separately, as a set of fences and then each of the buildings seperately... but it's a hard one to call .

Nope, The only things I left separate were the base and the wings for all but the very last stages like varnishing; it took about 4 or 5 fairly fast stages:

1 Base: Mechrite Red + Red Gore
2 Add Mecharius(?) Orange foundation paint + Blood Red to previous mix
    3 Add more blood red
4+5 A couple of thin layers of leviathan Purple wash
6 Layer of gloss varnish for shinyness

Cheers for the input, it's really appreciated! As for the speed painting this model's taken me about 2 times as long as I planned, I got it a couple of days early and did a couple of very long days on it, it's a brilliant model to paint though, just time consuming!

Tah, I think once you find the colour it paints itself a fair bit Bashed out this guy as well, light's fading so the pictures not quite the best but you get the idea:

Yet another amazing model to paint and construct; much nicer than the banshee one I think.
All of this stuff is now up on Ebay

Great stuff...Top notch quality and considering the speed at which you paint, makes it all the more impressive. One question, can you tell me how posable the ghoul king's legs are? I want to make a standing version of him and I'm wondering how much effort that would take (i.e. a bit of minor greenstuff work or a lot of resculpting)?

    Cheers,

Thanks mate, sure I can, I'm holding a second one on the sprue in my hand right now ^_^

The left and right join either side of the body at the hip, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to rotate their facing slightly and greenstuff some more loincloth or something to hide it, if you were looking to change the knees though it would be quite a lot of work.

Instead I think it'd be cool to pose the bode as if it were jumping from its base, attached to the ground by its right foot, it's an amazing model, in a brilliant pose, and it almost seems a shame to change it

What a lovely curse to be under though!

Sure; it's a pretty standard mix except for the microdot of 'GW Liche Purple' in it. Also, rather than it being watered down with water I used paint thinner (standard Tamiya one, I think it's called x20), this means that you can thin down your layers without having to wait for them to dry, as it's alcohol based, so it evaporates super quick.

Base: Tiny bit of L.P. Elf Flesh: Dheneb Stone 1:2(/3ish)

Next layer Add a little more Dheneb Stone to the mix

After this (using the same mix) add skull white

One final layer for highlights, but this time add the previous mix to skull white in order to ensure it's really extreme.

I did it with glazing and the airbrush, but it's just as doable (and you can achieve better ore precise results) with glazing alone, it just takes a little longer.

Let me know if you've got any more questions!

I tried taking a couple of pictures of the terrorgeist with a different background, let me know if you think these pictures are any better, Ideally I'd like to get to the stage where all of my shamelessly plugged stuff up on ebay is at least accurately represented one day, taking pictures has always been something I find difficult though :S:

More stuff tomorrow, SoM stuff mostly again

Could you give me your recipe for the burial robes on the tomb banshee?

    Of course!

I can't be too precise on the quantities but I'll try and guestimate, using rotting flesh is what makes the difference, but hawk turqoise and bleached bone works really well as well (that's what I added to skull black fo the cairn wraiths)

    1-2parts Ice blue
    1 Part Rotting Flesh
    1-2Parts Hawk turqoise
1/2 A Part Scorpion Green (more of this, less ice blue for the greener ones following later in the post)

Then all I did was add more rotting flesh to the mixture as it went down each step for 5 layers (whether green or more blue/turquoise recipe this is the same), then swapped that for skull white for the last 2 layers.

As ever I used thinner instead of water, but that's just personal preference, if you were doing it with dry-brushing it wouldn't matter at all.

I hope that helps; any more questions feel free to ask!

Loads of pics upcoming, it's been a manic week!I've 2 more wraiths+banshees, some SoM scenery, a rider for a dark elf dragon, to add to the terrorgeist banshees and wraith I listed on sunday.

I've unexpectedly got to go and attend to some family stuff on sunday for a few days, and as a result In the next 2 and a bit days I've got a chimera, a cockatrice, a dark elf sorceress (for the dragon - 2nd mount option) to paint, on top of this I've got another terrorgeist built, but that may be more than I can manage in the time remaining, we'll see.

Anyways here's a shedload of pics, some of them were a little rushed, so apologies for the quality, all of the Vampire Counts Stuff is up on ebay.

    Cairn Wraith #2

    Cairn Wraith #3

Banshees 3 and 4 (spot the difference!):

I did this for a client who collects undead, fairly happy with the outcome:

That's the lot, there may well be more coming tomorrow though ^_^

If you frequent other forums apologies for c&ping the lot shamelessly across a couple of them, far too much squinting has gone down today for me to type more than one post of this length, please forgive me!

The leading bidder dropped out it seems :| now the current leader is an eBay virgin, fingers crossed it's a nice one

I just painted the first goblin green rimmed base I've done since I was about 12, I must admit there's definitely something good about them, I feel a resurgence on the way!

The Wraiths are a tad too bright to my tastes, I'd not buy those because I like the grimdark reaper atmosphere they give to a gaming army.

And the rider on the Gheist-----it doesn't look good. Too bright again, try another purple wash and a glaze and a highlight on the skin and it won't look as non-fitting as currently. And the fact that the mould lines are far too prominent in your pics - hide them away!

Sorry for the critique, but I think you wanted that above all else as that will get you more money from the work you do.

Cheers and do not get dismal, you're doing a great job,

The wraith looks a blinder! Really like the subtle ice blues being used all the way up. I envy your crisp style as well sir! Been repeatedly coming back to this log to check out the constant top quality of these models!

I usually tend towards dark on chars like this, but I thought they might look a bit plain on ebay if they were pretty much two tone models with one metallic item, it's quite easy for someone to spray theirs black, drybrush some dark grey on, then wash boltgun metal on the wep and paint the skull bleached bone, hopefully doing a little bit more will ensure that mine sell well, I'll see if my gamble pays off

The rider isn't that bright in real life, as I said previously I had huge difficulties photographing this mini, I know everyone's always saying that their stuff looks better in real life so I try to avoid it but I feel in this situation the photos really haven't done the mini justice :S

Don't worry about criticising, I'll lap up any pointers or opinions people can give; I'm painting the vast majority of this stuff with profit it in mind, and it's gamers like you I'm selling to; your thoughts are completely invaluable, keep them coming!
