Agree with Tzarinchilla. Commission / ebay work is fine but getting to work on your own stuff can give you extra satisfaction as you get to retain the benefits of your labours. View it as a treat to yourself after having to let all those other 'lovelies' go.

Think the mournfangs are quite exciting tbh

Howdy all, apologies forthe massive delay between posts, I've been on holiday to France, and also busy working on something not quite painty for a while

I have however written up a fair few of my tutorials properly:

    Buildings/Skullvane Manse

    Gore/Blood

    Snow

    Thunderwolves/Fur

    Verdigris+Metallics

Colour Sequencing/Airbrushing Vehicles (Necron annihilation Barge)

You're spot on bud, although of course the moment they're finished I'll put them away and start working on another army that'll take 2 years to complete I'm sure

Cheers @ Jez, I've not made any progress on them yet but they're at the top of my to-do list!

I'm working on some empire stuff now, expect to see another karl franz manifesting here fairly shortly!

I love that several times you refer to using gin as a thinner. It's going to make painting a whole lot more fun.

Tah Scythe, the kit pretty much painted itself tbh, nothing on there's got more than 3 layers to it, and I used about 4 colours in total ^_^

I <3 gin! Also it's far nicer to spend time around than the horrific stuff that's in normal thinners, your body will thank you!

...as long as you're not drinking it every time you paint...

Sick painting Byron, as if being pumped out by a factory - everything looks perfect.

Thanks very much, the factory is back from holiday and spending time on other things so it should be chugging along at the nearly the normal rate from now on. (I think that's quite enough of that 3rd person metaphor...)

Oh no it's not! Thanks Griffon, as as said these 2 kits really paint themselves, there's very little on there that has more than 3 layers and a wash to it, they're amazing!

Tah Npow, I'd love to, I've been wanting to for ages. I'd just have to get over being slightly camera shy and someone would have to buy me one of the fancy cameras required which I can't afford... I promise if someone does the latter I'll sort out the former, any takers? I can however promise an actual proper 3D style view will be coming fairly shortly, in the style of this one, actual three dimensions, not 360degree

Thanks Daniel, there's a tutorial for it a couple of posts up at the top of the page, it's basically just 2 very nice tamiya paints and a certain type of glue if you want 'stringy bits'.

Thanks very much guys, we're working on some technology which'll allow us to take '3d' views of models, which we've tested on Karl, however deathclaw's assive wingspan has given us some lighting issues, it's still WiP but let me know what you think, it should allow you to see the model from more angles:

It's a very good first try as you say probably not the best mini to start on given the size. If you can sort out the lighting issues then you'll be there - there's a lot of shadow in some of the views. You might consider changing the back drop the cloth is a bit off putting (or maybe just run a quick iron over it ) I like that you can adjust the view up and down as well as side to side not even GWs 360s do that. Nice paint job by the way.

For those of you with long memories this may ring a bell ^_^.

I'm in the process of trying to paint a full 2400point daemon army in less than 7 days, and I've been taking pictures along the way with some units with the intent of writing tutorials. These daemonettes were painted in one sitting in about 9-10 hours, which could be useful for someone if they have a tournament coming up etc

Anyway I've written a tutorial here describing how I did it.

Here's a picture of the finished unit:

let me know if it's of any help, what you thnk I could do to improve it, or if there's any general questions you'd like answering, I'll be doing lots more in the future so with some feedback hopefully I can make them more helpful!
