This double jointed leg thing was a real pain in the ****, it looks like it just all joins up together and fits snug, visualizing all the bits separated it looked like it was going to be as easy as lego, but really it wasn't fun, was very fiddlyI am happy with the end result though and it is stable enough to hold the rest of the model up.
Also, he has chicken feet!
New close combat dread! legs from standard dread kit, torso was salvaged from a horrific paint job and a bargain purchase from ebay, arms from furioso and have been spaced out from the body with plastic rings.
It also stands up a little higher after a bit of trickery, and swivels 360' as well. Sword and Shield from warriors of chaos set to cover / replace some of the iconic black templars stuff that was there.

some things happened, breaking occurred, the cat was blamed...
it's been a hell of a fortnight.
damn it, my defiler knight is destroyed. very sad face.
however in the midst of the rubble of the defiler knight another will arise, this new version will be my next project and i hope to have it rebuilt and basecoated during the week, and if no other cat-astrophy happens, should ben finalized within 2 weeks.
mean while, 4 more oblits have finalized their journey from the warp, here they are ready to wreak havoc on those that hold to false ideology and feeble hope!

Not the Defiler!!! You have my deepest condolences, sir.
But way to take it in stride! Can't wait to see what you do with the new one
Great 'blits too, the one with the Plasma Cannon is especially epic.
"Nixon" the Knight class Defiler rebuild in progress! I can make him bigger, better, faster...more poseable...

I love the oblits and mech thing. I really like the obliterator with the purple 'hair', plasma cannon wire, and ammo thing at the top, it's like the the wires go to his head and are part of him.
Bah figures I cant see the pics my job blocks flicr. I'll check these out later tonight as I have an old love for Night Lords and I have a ton of Night Lords stuff from when I was going to do a Night Lords army way back in 2001 which I will start up again after I finish my Death Guard and Dark Eldar. I am hoping a new Chaos Codex will be out by then and bring back the old Legion fluff so I can do Night Lords.

Damn it all to heck, I was never into fantasy gaming, but I moved house, got a new PC and then got myself a copy of Elder Scrolls Skyrim and everything else was put aside. EVERYTHING else just took a step back and allowed Skyrim to absorb all my spare time. It's not my fault I promise!
Anyways, I burned out my Skyrim passion and ran out on the weekend and bought a spray gun and some paints, and went absolutely nuts on my CSM. I'm not sure I slept at all.
Needless to say, the Night Lords warband has taken a sudden leap forward and with a bit of a different visual theme than I had planned on the outset. I do believe there will be a reshuffling of the ranks and Nixon the Knight Defiler may well be the only mini to survive the transition.
Needless to say, some new pictures are coming up very soon.
breaking from cover of night, full of wrath and ready to lead a ruinous tide.
base coating done, looking for a shade wash on the weekend that is spray gun compatible, then on to metals, details and some dirtying and weathering.
black base coat, and then in the now out of date citadel range, this is regal blue, shaded up to enchanted blue. I love spray guns
Plain Daemon Prince with Wings (warp/teleport pack) to lead the flock of the fallen (coming soon!).

New rhino base coated, this is 1 of the 2 I put together, both are very similar, both with removable, weighted Havok Launchers. I will look at adding Combi turrets at a later time.
Used the Bolters from an imperial Dread weapon for the Combi Bolter on the side and stealthed down the exhaust stacks.
I like the way directional spraying give automatic shadow detail. Love the spray gun!

Glad to see you're continuing with this army. I know all too well what Skyrim can do to your spare time!

thanks guys, good to have some feedback, over the weekend I applied some Drakenhoff Nightshade to the DP, it was described as a blue / black wash, but came out almost like a pure black wash, much darker than i was hoping, should have tested on a different model!
will have to water it down for other models.
regardless, the DP is easily saveable, wil just need an extra step or 2 of layering to brighten it back up a bit. should be able to get that done tonight.
also @ BasetheRuin, sent you a PM regarding a raptor model you might like for your Black Legion.
Wow, thanks mate! You've got a PM back.![]()

some progress, a couple more details to go, and some layering and highlighting to get it back to the brighter look it had pre wash, i was hoping for something halfway between this and the previous, must remember to water down the drackenhoff nightshade next time!
aiming for a black blade with red flame/lightning dancing along it.
only real uncertainty is the warp/jump pack canisters, really unsure what to do there..
