@Arthanor thanks i wanted to brighten it up like my devastator but my paint dried up so i have to get some more lol and as for my WIP models all get them painted right away!

@Kaisergrenadier thank you for the tip! ive been looking for a new shading for my helmets and i know wht you me about the bases i simply was going for a high perch to show his attoritay!...as cartman would say..lol and i will certainly prime my models asap(need primer..tho lol)

@Mutantdale, thank you kindly as for tips im still new my self only started like a few weeks of progress but wht works for me is to flaten some GS on a smooth surface lightly covered with vasaline then cut out the shape you desire, then use a bit more vasaline to smooth out all finger prints then i used thin nails to form a good shape then i slowly sculpted around the nails. I did this on the model itself but i believe it would be easier to put it on after to prevent the nails from moving around...
P.S. the vasaline unfortuatly will stay on ur hands for a while with an oil feeling so dont over use but it helps alot better!

HEY just wanted to ask what everyone wants to see first because I have so much I'm working on LOL I'll have updates on honor guard tonight and maybe half a tactical squad. But I really would like some input on what I should finish first cheers everyone!

Will you paint their helmets white as you did for the other veteran? In that case, having the shoulder pads a nice, warm marble white would look good. Just make sure you define the edges properly to set if off against the yellow - I would suggest the method I described earlier (warm stone grey - beige - bone - pure white) and paint a fine line of brown wash in the recess between the shoulder pad's rim and field.

As for capes, I think that a warm scarlet works nice to offset the yellow, but not overpower it. I did a retro captain like that which you may have seen in my thread:

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "Templar look" - do you mean the historical Templars, or the Black Templars chapter? Either way, having a bit of medieval/chivalric trim for Marines usually works well, although I personally see the Imperial Fists as more of the pragmatic, no-frills type - crop-cut Prussian junkers, if you like, but that may just be the Ian Watson novel.

Just make sure you use colours that complement the yellow rather than overpower it - dark and full reds work well, cobalt and Prussian blue do, too, and ultimately, black or a warm textile white (although for the latter, make sure to border it with some brown ink outline washes to delineate it from the yellows).

Well I order a lot and to my surprise there were some forge world Templar pads and given the imperial fist 1st company was the orgin of the Black Templars. I believe it could work to say some stayed with the imperial fists so I was thinking of experimenting a nice compromise between the two colors but I might also completly redo the honor guard by buying a sword brethren box and converting those but I'm not quite sure yet still experimenting but I'm also a huge fan of medieval Templars haha my chaplain I just painted has a nice metalic medieval look lol

Just wanted to give a little update i fixed my chapter master and im working on uploading pictures. But unfortunatly my honor guard did not turn out like i wanted so im going to try an experiment next time i can go to my local hobby store. but in the mean time i have tons to paint lol and although most is primed, ive been in need of a air brush to paint them quickly. Ive been looking for one at my house but havent found it so i was wondering if anyone could tell me good ones to use. Much abliged!

Hey, all your stuff looks decidedly great, but I have one objection:

According to the only real piece of knowledge written about the great Vladimir Pugh, it is clearly stated that he is NOT Chapter Master based on his personal prowess at demolishing anything within reach, but rather because he's a master tactician, and knowledgable in the extreme about his brethren, delegating missions and responsibilities to those most suited to the task. I know it may not make for a very heroic leader, but I think it makes him a much more interesting character than those who'se sole claim to fame is their ability to pwnzzorz Avatars et. al...

It was in the original Index Astartes article in White Dwarf way back when... My brother is currently in possession of my collection. Lexicanum states that: "...Whilst not a particularly inspirational leader, Vladimir Pugh is as meticulous a planner as any Chapter Master in the Imperial Fists' history", and while he does prefer to lead from the front, it doesn't mean he's double-fisting powered wrecking balls on sticks.

And while that's what's written, it doesn't mean he can't use those hammers

There's a log over on Bolter&Chainsword, where there's a really cool version of Master Pugh, where he carries just a bolter and Chainsword, which strikes me as fitting for such a no-frills Imperial Fist, though I can't seem to find it ATM...

lmao thanks im so confused now, i wonder if they possibly changed it because every where ive looked they displayed him completly opposite haha i think GW may have lost track of wht fluff they originally displayed for him

Ive actually see that model as well but ive seen him displayed so many times with two hammer(the new space marine codex). But to be honest i loved that conversion, it was a techmarine conversion if im not mistaken. But given have my 1st squad is all thunder hammers i felt they were fitting.
lets at least hope the model its self turns out well rather i still could use him for something....lol no idea as to wht tho haha
