Thanks Horacus! Glad you like it. I'm still struggling to get my conversion skills on par with the beautiful things I see on these forums though, especially with these metal models. Always thought myself as being more of a painter.

So I mostly do head swaps, pinning different weapons on models etc. Basic, but it does make the models just that tad more individual.

Nice work on the painting, strong and crisp, and as already said, the power cabling brings it all together very well.

The 3 close combat guys have really dynamic poses, looking forward to seeing them painted.

Well brothers, time for some WIP shots. Assembled some marines this weekend and did some work on the dread. A lot of people don't seem to like the ancient Chaos dreadnaught, but I think it stood the test of time pretty good. Well, IF you get rid of that boring looking helmet-head that is.

As you see on the power cables, I'm working my way up from blood red to yellowish orange. His teeth are boltgun metal and the (barely visible) goo behind the head should end up looking like exposed flesh/brains.

Here are some marines a painted some time ago (more than a year ago actually). The bolter-aiming dude was an idea I shamelessly stole form Mega Nutz' great Black Legion plog. That he may soon continue it.

Thank alot Horacus and Vomikron, your encouragement really keeps me motivated. Normally I would have already switched to another project .

Now to shift gears a little bit, I have made a small step by step guide on painting my dreadnaught standard. Hope you'll like it! I think the pics speak for themselves, but I anyone's interested, I can list the colours I've used.

I'm painting up the dread right now, hoping to show you guys the result this weekend. After that I *have* to paint some more troops or I'll never get them done (you probably know the feeling)

But then who knows, it might just be Abe's turn.

After a Saturday of frantic painting the dread is finished. (Exept for correcting the little mistakes I just spotted on photo ) Oh well.. enjoy!

By the way, I still can't get my pics top appear in the post. I've tried linking to Flickr , PBase, nothing shows up. What am I doing wrong??

Wow! Your stuff is great, but that dread! The addition of that head and the level of painting on the model make it really amazing. Well done, can't wait to see more...

Great looking models! I got two questions, on the first picture of the thread, the guy on the left with a robe and Alpha Legion pad... how did you convert his chest and where did you get that chaos decoration on his backpack???

Thanks Hicks, you've got some great looking Death Guard going on yourself.

The robed marine (I'm going to use these robed dudes as squad champions) got chaosified primarily thanks to the WFB mounted marauders sprue.
I scraped away his chest eagle and replaced it with a tiny chaos star from the sprue which i cut to fit. The backpack icon is the top half of a marauder standard, drilled into the backpack with a pin vice.
