I think that would be a very good idea. Love these tank versus arrow kind of battles.

can't wait to see that dreadnought painted up. it's an interesting combo -the old body with those arms. sounds odd, but it seems wrong and right at the same time, chaos indeed!

Well brothers, here's some progress. My PIP dread and some marines with a strong theme goining on: BIG axes. Except for some fillling here and there, building these guys is pretty much done.

The dread has a bit of a Warmachine vibe.. probably because of his top heavyness + skinny legs .
I hope to finish him by next weekend (but we all know what becomes of plans like that)

Yes, my axe is big.. got a problem with that? (taken from a WFB Chaos Chosen, horrible models exept for their weapons)

The above guy's pose I like the most. It's Evil Threatning Marine!

Hope Huron's not looking for his axe any time soon..

Let the meat grinder grind on!

Blackheart called, he wants his axe back....

Fantastic unit there, the "big axe" theme fits them really well and gives them some real cohesion to boot!

Nevermind his axe, where did you get that backpack?????? I can only find two of them myself at the moment, all the rest of them are gone...lost in the chaos of time and moving house!!!

That backpack was always my favorite, but now I'm down to two...and one of them is used...

:O I love this Blog. I myself am planing to start a black legion army to tie together my rabble of impulse painted chaos (ever seen an army with word barers, Imperial fist traitors and Fallen? it looks a mess)

This is extreamly inspiaring, with a large helping of Awsome-Sauce.

Any chance of getting shots of the whole lot so far together! Ill be back!!! :L

You're work is outstanding. Simple yet magnificent conversions, totally black legion spirit. Also, the dread looks intimidating.

Your comments are very much appreciated my dark brothers. You are a real help keeping me motivated painting all this black, gold, black, black&gold.

    - Kane40k: I'll try to make some shots of the whole gang when I've finished my dread (not long now).

So thanks again, and let the meat grinder grind on!

That dread is coming along real nicely, I'm particularly enjoying the shoulder pads. Those marine conversions are looking damn fine too, Evil Threatening Marine is my favourite! Those Chosen axes work really well. Keep em coming brother!

Re: BasetheRuins 2nd Ed Black Legion

Hello brothers, just before the weekend hits: here's my new dreadnought. I've rushed it a bit so to get the pics online today, so please tell me if you spot any possible touch up spots! I'll try to make some army shots today, but that requires me cleaning up my work station. So that my take some time .

I've tried to make it look as if steel horns are slowly bursting through his skull. I like the result - not too bloody - but I'm not sure if I'd do something like this again.

Look, its a beauty with brains!

Steel Legionnairies don't run away, they stand their ground and get MASSACRED mahahaa

I love the dread so much!! He came out really well in the end, loving the skull/horns in particular. The more I see of this army, the more I like it! The old school colour scheme works really well for them. Keep em coming brother!!

Re: BasetheRuins 2nd Ed Black Legion

Well guys, here's a dude from my extensive backlog: a Black Legion Sorceror in his white metal glory. Did any of you read Aaron Dembski Bowden's Night Lord trilogy? Every time the character Ruven popped up - a NL soceror who joined the Black Legion - I pictured this miniature in my mind:

I really hope ADB will ever do a novel about the post heresy Black Legion. He has that uncanny feeling for what makes CSM cool. Dan Abnett may be a tad more original, but ADB knows what a wargamer wants to read.

    Now, back to batch painting..

Well, 'conversion' might be just too much honour It's a weapon+backpack swap.
    But thanks!
