The Dreadnought looks fantastic, the way the horns painfully push their way through the metal is both modelled and painted well. Kudos!

The Sorcerer is a classic, nice update on that front. I always have loved the exposed psychic circuitry of that helmet. )

Nice work, menacing like the rest, damn, they all look so good!

Ruven features a little in the Void Stalker book (just released), though his appearance has changed a little!

Hehe just read Void Stalker myself, good point. The mini is a bit too much *alive* compared to Ruven as he is now

By the way, started building an out of the box Terminator squad. No conversions. I like the models but man, mold lines EVERYWHERE. Big, fat and omnipresent. Kinda makes me want to switch back to my old metal terminators (I've got about 35 lying about, the result of an aborted Chaos Deathwing project). The plastic Termies are essentially the same design, just bigger (which is good) and less detailed.

    Well, time will tell!

    Termies...here's an idea for ya...from a log at B&C:
    http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/i...post&p=2939158

I was thinking of doing this myself actually, I've always loved the old metal termies more than the new undetailed ones...

(oh, and the sorcerer and dread looks AWESOME!)

Hey Excessus, that is a great link. Thanks a lot! I think I'll experiment with that when my Abaddon is up on the build queue. Though admittedly, I'm not a great converter like many here. I mostly just do the smaller stuff like head swaps etc. But its always good to broaden your horizon

No stealing involved here brother, I stole the idea myself from the cover of the new BL novel, the Primarchs.

Re: BasetheRuins 2nd Ed Black Legion

It's update time. Finally finished my termies. Felt like it took forever! Though they are less detailed than the old metal ones, there's still A LOT to paint on these models. Enyoy!

His right eye seems a little big in retrospect. Oh well, that's what you get for having an eye as Legion symbol.

I really went overboard with painting eyes and Sons of Horus iconography.

You can still see some of the Vallejo satin varnish drying in the corner where his leg meets the chainmail.. It's not like I was in a hurry to put these guys up! Great stuff though, the brush-on varnish from Vallejo. Never again will I go through the agony of the frosty overspray from GW's purity seal. Neverr!

Shoulder pads form Maxmini. Strangely, I like 'em less than the original GW ones. Oh well.

Super sweet-looking termies. I love the red eyes on the armor. Crap, I may have to go back and change mine to look more like them!

Thanks for your praise MN, Horacus and DK. I feel honored to have inspired you.
    Let the galaxy burn brothers!

Edit: is there any chance you will pick your Black Legion up again Mega Nutz? I actually started this army because of your Abaddon's children... Talk about inspiration!

Fingers crossed.... I had to have more surgery on my wrist but I'm healing well. If all's gone to plan it should free up the joint meaning a return to the hobby. Got to say I'm missing it and with all the recent eye candy am itching to get back! Thanks for the thoughts...

Did you cover them completely with the satin varnish? I usually get more of a gloss look when I use it.
