    Re: Alpha81's Death Guard

I have finished assembling my first squad - 7 chosen. In an attempt to keep the cost of the army down I am doing some 'home-made' death guard, and spreading the forgeworld parts out across several squads.

    My green stuff death guard:

A squad of 7 Havocs and a squad of 7 Plague Marines will complete the first batch of the force. Let me know what you think of this squad.

I have finished my test model, I'm happy with the colour scheme, but as always comments and opinions welcome.

Very nice, really like the terminators and the dp, especially the grim putrid look without using green.

This is an exellent army so far. You've got yourself a fantastic colour scheme, and your method of making your plastic marines match the forge world ones is genious.

I've finished my squad of Chosen. I am happy with the overall colour scheme, but I am even happier about my conversion/green stuff work!

Let me know what you think!

Looking great so far. The armour is a fantastic colour and your GS work is good. May I ask what colours you use for the armour?

I start with a basecoat of dheneb stone, then wash badab black into the deepest recesses/armour joints. Then a (very) liberal wash of devlan mud. Next layer on a coat of kommando khaki, then just do a few more highlights with more and more skull white, but never pure skull white.

    Re: Alpha81's Death Guard

I've been spending a lot of time recently back with my Alpha Legion, but don't worry I haven't forgotten about my Death Guard. Just painted this guy...

It's a nice model at a good price, and allowed me to try a bit of simple converting and green stuff work. So i now have to finish off my terminators, paint my other two assembled squads, and a predator, then i think i will get another 2 squads - should keep me out of trouble for a few months!

These are absolutely gorgeous, well as gorgeous as pus and disease ridden super soliders can be. The colour scheme is great and the conversions really work.

The converted Fantasy champion is amazing! Great use of parts there. Is he a Lord or just a squad champion?

Great army, I will keep following this.

    Cheers,

Blight Drone - I've done the skin green to tie it in with the Daemon Prince, and peeling white paint as it didn't feel like it belonged to the army when it was just the rusted metal. As always, comments welcome...
