Finished Terminators. I'm happy with the rusted armour effect, particularly on the three i painted this week using the new citadel paint range.

To me, they look a lot like the apostles of contagion.
I think they look really great. Well done!
How did you get that effect?
Have you got enough models for a army shot?
Also, I think your blight drone is Very good. I like the skin. It looks old and leathery!
Very cool stuff!!

As requested, my completed army so far...
I still have a squad of 7 (obviously) plague marines to paint, and a predator. As for the rusted metal basecoat with Mournfang Brown, heavy wash of Agrax Eartshade, drybrush Mournfang Brown, drybrush Skrag Brown, drybrush Leadbelcher, edge highlight Ironbreaker.

Colour me subscribed! Awesome stuff so far. That Blight Drone is plain rancid (so therefore perfect!) and the conversion of the fantasy Nurgle mini looks epic!![]()
I've finished a squad of plague marines, completing everything I currently have.
I might leave my Death Guard 'as is' for now, and start work on something a bit more Imperial.....

Great looking unit. Very gloomy and grimy. Nice work!

These are fantastic models, good sir. If I could subscribe twice, I would.
Would you mind sharing the colours/techniques you used on the Blight Drone? That is possibly the best paint job I've seen yet on one, and makes me re-think not buying any![]()
With regards to painting the Blight Drone, the skin and the metal shell are the two main areas. I will detail the paints I used, most being from the previous range from Citadel, but some even older than that!
Skin - basecoat with scorched brown, then a heavy wash of agrax earthshade. Then start working from scorched brown to catachan green - the model is very detailed, so dry brushing is fine for this. Then start mixing elf flesh in to the catachan green and highlighting with that. Next a wash of gryphonne sepia, thrakka green and water in the ratio 3:1:5 over all of the skin - this will tone down the 'chalkiness' of the highlights. Lastly, thinned down citadel purple ink (from many years ago!) in to the deepest recesses and creases. Paint the boils and sores as I mentioned in a previous post and you are done!
Metal - basecoat with skrag brown. Heavy wash of agrax earthshade (I use a lot of this!). Dry brush with boltgun metal then chainmail, then a thinned down wash of gryphonne sepia. Stipple on skrag brown on the more heavily corroded areas, then start mixing in blazing orange for highlights, and then bleached bone. Again, this can look 'chalky' so a wash of gryphonne sepia will tie it all back together. Then agrax earthshade in to the deepest holes and cracks, and finally an edge highlight in chain mail just to brighten things up a bit.
Hope this helps!
