    Warlord Battle Titan Commission

Hello, back with another Warlord commission, we wanted to show you guys some of our work in progress shots and to catalog our progress till the end of the commission.

This is Green_Ranger's and my 4th Warlord titan and we already have a 5th in the works for the same client (which is going to the U.A.E).

Here is some early work in progress photos from about two months ago:

This is the "master" of the foot before we cast it:

Here is a final resin foot:

Construction of the legs, waist plate, and body struts with cast feet and knee joints:

Rear shot of basic leg detail:

And, a shot of the main body construction and top plate:

Construction of the titan is all done out of MDF covered in .040 plastic card, or our resin cast pieces which include the feet, knees, waste, leg armor plates, the head and minor details.

We will be magnetizing the carapace weapons (apoc missile launchers and turbo lasers) and the arm weapons will be swap-able via a pin system (two melta cannons, a plasma destructor, and a gatling blaster).

*Note, so I don't get 20 PM's about it, NO we do not have templates, and the going price is $1600 USD + shipping charges.

Going in order, here are more pictures as we progressed:

Mock up of the top vents, and basic arm structure:

    Basic leg detailing:

Mock up of the back detail:

And were we are right now in the building process:

We will be detailing and painting this one to match a Grey Knight army (silver with gold and red accents).

Looking sweet./, will definitely be following you guys closely Is there a particular reason why you don't just cast all of the pieces ?? besides the costs of resin that is.

    Re: Warlord Battle Titan Commission

It's not really the cost of the resin (it's rather cost effective actually), but rather the cost of the silicone to make the molds. Weight is also an issue, as the added weight from the resin (if the whole model was resin) it would jack up shipping costs even more.

Thanks for the compliments, we can get some old pictures out of the old ones in a bit.

Edit: Also, although it appears to be rapid progress it has taken us two months to get to this point. It usually takes three months to finish one fully.

Nope, we are not casting anything GW, really only using a name "warlord" which is hardly bothersome to us. They don't make a model for it so we supply a scratch built one.

Well, they did make an epic-model which looks exactly the same, didn't they? You just scaled it up. No offence, really. But I see trouble somewhere at the horizon.

I actually think that they can get away with it as long as they don't sell it as a kit as there is a loophole when we talk about selling finished/painted models even though they might be in some violation with the GW copyright. As long as it is commission based work as this usually prevents the whole mass production aspect that would normally get you targeted by GW.

Our thoughts exactly. We have no intenntion to make it a sell-able kit, but to order only.

    Re: Warlord Battle Titan Commission

Have you got any pictures with some models for scale? Depending who you ask, where you look, what you read, warlord titans seem to change scale drastically, I'd be interested to see were your's stands on this?

One of the better warlords I've seen so far though chaps. :-)

    Re: Warlord Battle Titan Commission

    Thanks for the replys.

Our scale is some what of an inbetween GW's artwork and forgeworld titans, meaning a warhound would come to its knee and a reaver to its waist. It stands around 30 inches tall.

We don't have any in game shots, as we normally only build them, prime them grey and ship them to their owners, this is the first one we are painting for the client.

When I'm home from work I will post pictures of past ones.

Here is some of our past work. Our third titan we built was armed with two shoulder mounted turbo lasers and two Quake cannons:

And our first Warlord we built. With this one we didn't have the epic model to go off of in ours hands just yet and we were 17.

While it's very cool and impressive, how feasible would it have been to not upscale all the details along with the rest of the titan?
