Just finished Salvations Reach, My thoughts...

Good Story overall, cool mission and some nice introductions/build up before hand interesting to see more Verghast characters.

The Ghosts now appear to be swimming in Commissars, 6 at the start of the book!

Im sure Mabbon will turn out to be someone we "know" already...

The Space Battle though was just "wrong" to me, it was well written and paced but it bore little resemblance to 40k Space Warfare once it kicked off, which was very jarring. A shame.

The Book ended very suddenly too, with no resolution to a number of dangling threads which felt very unsatisfying. Some like the Investigation into the widows fraud make sense to keep rolling but we never hear what happened to those wounded in the breaching accident or get a clean "wind down" from the main mission. It kinda just, ends.

And in a Seperate Spoiler, Ghosts who died (And that i remember from previous books )

Dorden, Merrt, Costin. Several are also critically wounded and unresolved.
