    Re: 'Ere be Giants.

How did you get on with these Harry?

I too have a soft spot for Giants, after all they are a classic of most fantasy settings.

Have you thought about the Ultraforge giant? it has one of the best sculpted faces I've seen.

Not painted much in a while but done some painting this week.

I do like the Ultraforge giant ... but if I had the spare hobby cash I would probably go for the black scorpion pirate giant first.

I have just picked up the Ultaforge 'tree lady thing' ... as a Wood Elf giant.

Sorry it has been a while ... but I am here now.
With some progress on the ones I have started.

The Orc and Goblin Giant is just about finished.
I just need to find something suitable to hang around his neck to replace the missing bits.

Finished one of the vintage guys.
    The storm giant:

Tried to do the base so it looked like the whirlwind was sucking up some of the sand/dirt from the ground:
(Just needs grass to finish it off.)

Have I asked you how you paint your skin yet? It looks very good and manageable for me to do.

    That Nagash is incredible!!!!
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming like the other people in his car.

Got those old 5th edition lizardmen collecting dust? PM me, I really need more metal skinks with javelins.

I paint it elf flesh ... several thin coats of paint. Then blends of elf flesh and dwarf flesh for shade darkest shade I add a little scorched brown. then blended (badly ) Highlights with elf flesh and added skull white.
The secret is very thin watery paint.

    Re: 'Ere be Giants.

    Another little Giant update:
Made a start on this guy.
Done the bone and started the gold.
Not sure where to go with the blue bits or even if I want to keep the feathers on the face ... I am considering removing them.
Whole thing is very similar in tone at the moment ... not much distinction between the bone, bandages and gold.
    All a bit subtle.
    Suggestions?

Looking good so far, Harry! But I'd suggest either removing the feathers altogether (at least on the beak), or else paint them black or something similar. They really draw the eye at the moment, and distract from the rest... Love the conversion, BTW! Looking forward to seeing it all painted up!

    Cheers,

Cheers, Sounds like good advice. I will try them black before I remove them completely.

Giant plog Harry. Do you use these in game or do you just put on the shelf and let them look pretty ?

I don't get to play much these days but when I do everything gets played with.
Big games with everything with paint on it on the table is the norm.
Lovingly painted then lovingly chipped and made grubby.
No point having lots of toys and not playing with them.

I meant to write "Great giant plog..."

What's the coolest thing one of your giants have done in a game? Mine once killed an Arachnarock by it's lonesome.
