Not perfect, but still a very nice figure. I think I'll be picking one up for the growing Slaanesh contingent in my Army.

Re: AoW40 Lord of Torment & Familiar

    Hmmm.

It's alright I guess. I've been wanting an updated version of the old snake tail champ of slaanesh for a while. This isn't it though - the tail looks too pudgy to be slaanesh, and I'm not at all convinced by the head. Still, it's an ok model.

The familiar is kind of adorable, I don't care for the sorcerer person thing much but it is a nice sculpt and would make an ideal Slaaneshi sorceror, if Slaaneshi stuff wasn't so bad.

Im thinking they should sell the familiar seperately or in packs of 3 with slight variations, a lot of people would buy the cute lil fella/fellarette im sure.

I was thinking the other day that there needed to be a Slaaneshi sorcerer or something
I think he looks great and I like the pudgy tail. I'll pick one up to paint for my in-theory-only WoC army deffo.

Re: AoW40 Lord of Torment & Familiar

I opened this and saw the top half of the model and went "Yes!"

Then I scrolled down and saw the bulbous snake tail and went "...oh well."

Yet another mediocre release from Avatars of War. There have been far too many of those lately - it's like they devoted all their powers of awesome to the Beserkers kit

Chaos Sorc, with a Lovecraftian theme I would imagine. I quite like it.

Meh, I like it! May not have a use for it as a Warhammer figure but I will find a place for it as a major Villain in my D&D campaigns.

Frankly I don't mind if they just make whatever they please and release it. Not everything has to be a GW alternative.

Re: AoW40 Lord of Torment & Familiar

I like it, but no where near enough to pay their price for it.

I think the highlights of the model are the familiar, the staff and the sword. The weakness are the face (I can't tell what I'm looking at), the armor (which looks jumbled) and the overall pose (which could be a little less vertical). The paint job does the model no favors at all. I think I would like it better if I saw the green.

I quite like the model, but the artwork is better, didn't translate across that well.
Yeah, we flew our space church across 500 light years to get to this planet taken over by the orks. Now we're going to drop from orbit in buckets and run out and shoot pistols and hit people in the head with chainsaws. Ultramarines!

Re: AoW40 Lord of Torment & Familiar

I'ts the armour and theehad that's the main problem, the art has it with a nice simpe horn spiked pauldrons but the firgure has that mess of knotwork on it that just complicates it.

The head problem is the artwork has a full faced mask/helm and in a foward facingdirection with a no hint of facial featuresm the figure has what seems to be a tilted up head with what loks like a Nid's Ripper jaw just crammed in.

If it's meant to pass a Slaanesh the body/tail is too cold onec scaled and not lithe enough.

really nice. could easily be a Sorcorer of either Slaanesh, Tzeentch or even Nurgle depending on painting scheme. A+ work!

Love it. I think I'd swap the head for something either less human, or more human, but other than the helmet, the rest of him is fantastic.

Hmmm, perhaps the tentacled genestealer head? Some sort of wierd Mind-flayer-ish creature...
