While that was curing I have been working on a nice base for him. Doesn't really match the rest of my army, but whatever.

It's always great seeing a Sister's of Battle army!!! Especially one that is as beautifully painted as this!
Already liking that Celestine. I look forward to seeing her flaming spear.

Interesting looking base, you don't often see a heavily bleeding mattress!
Having a joke dude, I know it's not meant to be that!

It does look a bit silly doesn't it! Will fix it with paint.
Today I have been continuing work on a Battle Sister Squad. Armour (sans highlighting), robes (bar final highlight), grenades, flesh and hair is all done. Tomorrow I hope to get them finished.
I also did some work on my Saint today, set her wings on fire, added the flames to the weapon.
Pictures later.

I just crawled in to bed and realised I said I would upload some pictures... Damn. Well here they are, I will just sleep a little less tonight because I forgot!
This is not SOB, but it is something I started BECAUSE of the Sisters. Here is the Disk Rider I started earlier in the thread finished and ready for a lick of paint.
Since we're on the subject of Tzeentch Sorcerers, here is my other one, made from a Ungor head, the body of some Dark Eldar brain bug thing, and the Daemon disk. In person it looks less like his arms suddenly end in a flame, and more like he is summoning the fire around his hands.
BACK TO OUR SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING!
Here is the work in progress Sister squad. I hope to get them finished tomorrow. All they really need is weapons, pouches, the I things (and the attached chains) and for me to find some way of breaking the large brass plates up as we talked about earlier in the thread. Also highlighting. Lots of highlighting.
And up close they all look sorta like this.
I don't have my Saint here to show off. I left it in my local Games Workshop because the green stuff was still not cured and I didn't want to damage it in my case, so I will work on that tomorrow and try and get pictures tomorrow night.
Tomorrow I hope to finish off the Sisters and paint a Rhino for them (the Rhinos are mostly about 50% finished already, so not much to do really). That's my plan, but we will see if that pans out!
Next week I am back at work, so updates will come less frequently, although I am still really motivated to get this army finished (about 180 models to go then!), so I will keep going.
Cheers.
EDIT: How are the pictures? I experimented with a dark background in slightly duller light with no flash. I think they came out ok, but is it bright enough to see clearly? How could I do it better (that's what she said)?
EDIT 2: I just bought the $15 Basic Sculpting video from Miniature Mentor. Probably a waste of money, but I really want to learn to sculpt! I'll let you know tomorrow if it is any good.

Pics are good enough to see the coolness of your minis.
However, personally I'd paint their shoulderpads. Make the -I- and fleur-de-lys stand out more. Maybe also paint them red, like the robes.

The Ungor headed guy is an interesting idea for a Disc rider, how're you going to paint him?
The SoB are looking marvellous! Maybe Glory Wulf has a point though.

I didn't manage to finish the Sisters today. I played a game instead (which I won, yay) against an Eldar player. I did make some progress, but not enough to post pictures of. I am going to paint more tomorrow, maybe I will finish them then. I am going to experiment with breaking up the armour too. I shall try red shoulder detail as Wulf suggests. How do you think dark grey / black for the "ridge" bits on the stomach would look? Would break up the gold without breaking from the colour pallet.
As to the Ungor / Dark Eldar disk rider, I've not thought that far ahead. Most likely he will be some combination of blues and purples for his robes, with a flesh coloured face blended in to his horns and beard. We'll see how that works out when I get around to him though.

Gratz on the win. By ridges I take it you mean the zip like bit on the front? I know it's probably not a zip but I call it that. I think dark grey, black may look unfinished.

Still Learning,
I have always found a neutral or white background is best for miniature photography; it prevents the camera's auto-focus picking up a detail behind and leaving the models fuzzy.
If your camera has a macro setting you should select it and I see you know about avoiding the flash. Having a tripod or a pill of books to sit the camera on helps immensely as well...should eliminate having to hold anything as well when taking pictures.
Excellent green-stuff conversions and I like the fact you are trying to capture the crazy nature of the Witch Hunters with your conversions.
Cheers,
CB

Well... I spent another day at GW Stoke today, mostly painting. I have almooooooost finished the 10 girl squad. Armour, robes and weapons to highlight, bases to paint, then pretty much done. I would probably be finished, but I had another game, 1500 points this time against Eldar. My Sisters are 2 for 0 up with the new book! Bet the winning streak doesn't last...
No painting tomorrow as I have a funeral to go to, so I shall try and finish them Saturday. Maybe even do the Rhino too. Maybe I'll have a bit of time to paint in the morning.
@Astraeos: Yep, I meant the Zip. I have painted the armour the same as I did the Seraphim for now. I will do something "extra" when it's all done.
@ArtificerArmour: Thanks a lot! I am still trying to get to grips with sculpting. I have set my sights on making a Seraphim Sister Superior using one of these Repentia. Nothing like being optimistic in my own abilities!
@Captain Brown: I will try a sheet of brown parcel paper as my background next time. I think the darker background of the Codex cover worked better, so maybe the uniform brown will work better still. My camera is a few years old now. It's one of these Olympus 729 SW and it takes good sharp pictures, but the shutter time is very slow. I either need to find some sort of tripod, or a new camera.
I decided earlier that I wasn't happy with my feather creating skills on the Saints back, so I decided to just set her on fire instead. Flaming wings for all.

I'm just going to use the living saint with a sword swap with the empire wizard when I make mine.
Bear with me, I'll be starting a sisters blog soon so you can add that to your blogroll

Been a while!
Made some progress with the sisters (not as much as I should), but I am working on them over the next three weeks while I'm on holiday. For now, here is a picture of my newest addition to the Sisters in light of 6th Ed!
Will post more pictures over the next few days of the Sisters, my Vostroyan allies and the Thunderbolt. Might buy more Navy stuff too.![]()
