You only say that because his legs are in 25mm scale and his torso is 30mm heroic. Or maybe it's because of the Fisher Price rocket launcher?

Still, he has potential. Maybe I'll name him Tyrion.

Still leagues better than the first Shock Trooper models which look like they are wearing poodle skirts.

Not great, but they will allow people to bulk out the better stuff like Perries metal Samurai.

I've always wondered why no one has bothered with plastic Samurai and lo and behold I see this! I quite like the images so far, I may well pick some of these up but am maybe still a little skeptical about this company.

The box art is up. The samurai on the cover looks like he has a plastic face, but it's still better than the last 5 or 6 boxes.

Yes, the box art face isn't "real looking". Oh well, such is life. Then...it's only box art. It IS the minies that matter too me.

The minis' faces look like plastic, too.

Scandal? What scandal? I did a search for Wargames factory scandal and only found this thread again.
That said I really like their stuff. These guys dont seem to be about quality single minis, but about providing good table top quality gaming models. When a single GW mini sets me back $20.00 and I can get 32 Celts for the same price I know just where my dollars are going to be spent in future. @ Malorian, Dude do you play ancients? If so we need to chat, i am looking to start..

GW aren't the comparator for these guys - they need to be compared to what Perry's, Warlord, Immortal, Conquest, Gripping Beast and Victrix are doing.

I think they have strengths and weaknesses compared to those but I honestly only consider them as somewhere to get things not done by others.

It's all documented on www.theminiaturespage.com. I would do a search there.

To make a long story short, essentially the guy that started the company gave up controlling interest to his CHinese business partner. He was later forced out by one of his employees, that proceeded to speak ill of the individual. There are also accusations of copyright violation as the original sculptor "owns" the sculpts and did not authorize WGF to continue to produce when he was forced out. That is a very rough summary, but if you really want to get the full story, I would search the above website for more information. It is all rather sordid.

I wonder why they don't just do shots of the minis on the box cover, like the old sets?
The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

Ah. Very good idea, I wanted to do the same but then got sidetracked with the Cathay, Nippon and Albion fan army books and got thinking about killing 2 birds with one stone as it were..

WGF posted up some renders of Ashigaru: http://wargamesfactory.com/announcem...garu-preview-1

Have to admit I'm interested. Wondering how it will fit in with my already existing Kingsford Ashigaru...

They look better, a little too rigid though.

Photos? Need photos of the armies as you guys get them ready for battle.

In the mean time....I need an opponent who has Samurai armies to use.

The Samurai looked pretty uninteresting but this has got my attention. It's pretty cool and I'd love to have an army of bases with guys like that ranked up.

Hmm. I see Impetvs has a suitable Beta list for this. I would prefer figures suitable for ROTK but I can handle Warring States in Japan.

The render looks decent enough, but once again, I'll wait to see the sprues. If Wargames Factory ever manages to master the transition from computerised masters to plastic product they deserve to make a a lot of money.
