    Slaanesh Subjugator

I've been commissioned to make a Slaanesh Subjugator Titan:

    Another angle:

I long ago saved this picture as inspiration - NOT my own, I wish I knew who originally posted it online!

I've purchased a model of this to use as the base:

Along with some Chaos Defiler limbs and Chaos icons.

I need help with the following...

    1) What should I use as pincers? Any ideas for a good place to loot big mechanical pincers?

    2) What good material can I use for sculpting that's relatively cheap, air dries, and sands smooth?

Thanks for any help or comments!

Always like the ED 209 robot!

For the pincers well...,you can look into educational toys for kids, you know the ones with rather big and realistic animals models.

You can search for a crab or lobster modele.

Or try to see if you can use parts from the Trygon/Mawloc kit.

Or you could wait the new Ogres Kingdoms monsters!,those have huge Horns and Tusks that you could use as Pincers!

For the sculpting material, well one that comes to mind is Miliput, once its hardened you can sand it really easely, dunno if it is really what you could call cheap though.

For pincers: Why not use the Defiler arms?

I second the use of Milliput.

You seem to be off to a good start with that ED-209 as a base.

Defiler claws are short and blunt - I want something long and slender. Tyranid scything talons are too iconic in 40k (and too small!) so I wound up buying a set of Arachnarok Spider legs. Should be good!

I'll also look into buying milliput based on the suggestions here. Thanks!

All the parts are ordered and the arrival date for the ED209 isn't until late September, so I have a while before getting to real work. Will keep this topic updated on progress once it gets made!

That one's fantastic! Mine will be much more a "re-envisioning" of the Titan rather than a scaling-up of the Epic model, due to the constraints of the commission. I don't have the time, resources, or funds to make a complete scratch build but I can definitely work off the ED-209 to make a more Warhound-of-Slaanesh looking model with lots of design cues linking it to the original Subjugator.

I have all of the bitz needed besides the Ararchnarok claws and the base robot. I'll be gone all of next week, but when I return then progress should commence!

good call on the spider legs, great choice. I've been so tempted to blow the dust off my emperors children and revamp them.... you people ["What do you mean, YOU PEOPLE?!"] keep making it harder to resist

cant wait to see this take shape.

    Re: Slaanesh Subjugator

All the bitz are here! Photos at long last. These are all really rough mockups just to show how everything will fit together.

The two Tormenter Cannons are about Battlecannon stats, and here's where they'll be:

Here's the rough shape of the Hellslicer Claws:

This shows about the height the model will be, and its base:

And a few of the bitz which will help make the model look more 40k. The Doom Siren is part of its wargear, and the gargoyle heads will be the barrels of its twin-linked blastmaster.

I'll keep up with the basic assembly this week and, if need be, buy some clay for sculpting larger shapes on Friday. Stay tuned!

That looks really cool. Can't wait to see more of it. I forget, what class of titan is the Subjugator ment to be, scout? Just it looks to be a bit smaller in scale than a warhound. either way, it looks great

It looks cool, I think you should hive it a lot of studs and the classic chaos trim on the parts and some more cables and stuff to give it the true 40k feel

The Epic model is on a 28mm base while the Epic Warhound is on a 40mm, so I figured it was smaller - between Knight and Warhound sized.

Absolutely! I'll be sculpting the flame-design Chaos trim, the big dome 'eyes,' and adding studs and more 40k Chaos icons. I've already penciled on the parts to receive sculpting and I think it looks very promising.
