Syn's Chaos Daemons

So I've decided to start a Chaos Daemons army. There's not a lot to say right now, I've only got one squad of 18 horrors at the moment but there's more on the way. So far I've got the first 8 horrors done. I've not painted for a few years now so all feedback is appreciated.

Im going for a mix of blues, pinks and purples. I'm planning to make my tzeentch units pretty random to tie in with the whole contant evolution thing.

I just wanted to say sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, I've never used this camera before so I'm still figuring out how it works. If anybody has any adivce that'd be great. Apart from that, I got a few boxes in the post today!

So far I've given a plaguebearer the noxious touch upgrade and done a lot of greenstuff work on the beast to fill in the gaps. Has anybody else noticed how horrible that model is to build???

I got my first two plaguebearers done last night. What do you think? I dry brushed them with rotting flesh before blending it in with a bunch of washes, it looks pretty good but the highlights don't show up too well in the photo.



I also got two more horrors done.

The horrors are great, but the smooth painting doesn't suit the Plaguebearers so much... perhaps work more detail in, reddish sore edges and the like?

I see what you mean, I'm gonna try washes of red's and purple's in patches to try and give some flesh a more bruised look. Especially around all the open wounds.

I wanted to try out the nurgle colour scheme on a model with rougher textures to see if that would help, so I present to you my first beast of nurgle. What do you think?

@ Isfimbur: Thank you very much, that's very kind of you.

@Angelos Locke: I didn't actually make the beast, it's an old metal chaos spawn that I've had sitting gathering dust for the past 9 years. I thought it was about time I did something with it.

I got some detail work done on the plaguebearers but it's too dark to get a good picture of. Hopefully I'll get a good one tomorrow.

Also, can anybody help me out? I can't figure out how to get a link to my log at the bottom of my posts, Does anybody know how I go about doing this?

I've got most of the plaguebearers done now, just two to go. I took some close up pictures that turned out a bit blurry but hopefully you can see the detail work around the wounds.

It's actually the body of a great unclean one. I got a greater daemon of nurgle and slaanesh on ebay for £27. hows that for a bargin! Speaking of which, the keeper of secrets is now standing and waiting for paint.

Those greater daemons were indeed a bargain, out of curiosity, where's the Keepers sword from? Doesn't look like the GW one.
