    Eddie's Blue Ogres

So here it is, to celebrate my 100th post I'm starting a project log! The plan is to paint 1000pts of Ogres in a few weeks.

here is a list of what Ive got to work with:

1 warhammer forge chaos ogre from gamesday 2010 (bruiser)
    1 butcher
    12 bulls
    2 mournfangs
    1 giant

and here is a test mini to wet your appetite.

I understand that this is going to be a fast-paced project, but it is still worth the effort to remove mold lines thoroughly. I am looking forward to see what you come up with.

Here is an extremely WIP pic of the basic coulours. I've got a large part of the army at this stage and should have something interesting to show you later this evening.

I've always enjoyed the idea of frost ogres/ice giants I use the GW modeling snow for the bases, the trick is to mix it into the pva instead of applying it like static grass. it can be quite a pain to mix and apply but it looks nice

Nice start, how do you do the blue?
Would be pretty awesome to face this with my Norse Dwarfs

The blue is regal blue over a white undercoat, highlighting up through ultramarine's blue and a splash of ice blue for extreme highlights

Looking good! I've seen blue ogres before and though the colour weirdly suited them(!). I'm looking forward to seeing this progress, and enjoying seeing the bits from the new kits peppering your rank and file .

OK so I'm about 80% done on my first 1000pts. I just need to sort out their faces, finish my butcher then do loads of basing!

here is a quick photo of the small force

out of interest, does anyone know if this army will play well in 1000pt games?

and now he is assembled and ready, its a lovely model. The snow on his base will cover his foot tabs don't worry I haven't forgotten them.

These are looking great! Very well executed. Not sure if you're using Gorgers, but this could be some inspiration?

    Very cool, works very well.

tbh Including the other blue/frost ogre blog I'm starting to think ogres really suit blue, just as much as orcs suit green.
