OK, a better photo of the converted Sister Superior:

That gives you a better view of what changes I made to repair and convert the figure.

Here is a WIP shot of the same figure a half hour later as some colour starts to appear on the figure:

Obviously she needs a lot more work.

The long painting and converting war continues...

CB - Very nice tactical squads, and old rhinos (my favorite). The sister superior is also coming along nicely.

    Can't wait for more.

    Thanks Dudde,

Sorry it has taken so long, but I have an update on the Sisters. I have been working on my Necromundian Imperial Guard Regiment...but it is time for a change...or at least a rest.

First up the converted Sister Superior and another Battle Sister, they still need a little work:

Now I did remove the latest version Bolter and replaced it with an older one I obtained from a gaming buddy after I noticed the Sisters all carried the older versions.

Next was another Sister Superior with a combi-weapon:

Then comparing her with a previous one:

Comparing the converted Sister Superior with one of my original Sister Superiors:

Comparing the Battle Sister with a previously painted one:

CB - Looking good Captain Brown. Taking a break is always nice. Good to see you back painting sisters, have you ever thought of painting their brothers?

    Thank you Dudde,

I have not painted Marines (other than some Scouts for an all Scout Army) since the RT01 Box...and really have had no urge to paint them. Since most clubs and stores have lots of Marine players I always did other armies and always was a popular player to do battle with.

    Some final touch ups and:

And a WIP shot of the next two Sisters with Flamers:

    Update,

Finished the two Sisters with Flamers, now working on three more Sisters with Bolters. Most proud of the fact you can almost not tell which flamer had it's end rebuilt.

    C&C welcome.

    Update,

Finished the three more Sisters with Bolters. These models had obviously been stripped of paint many times and needed some detail revived through a little green stuff.

    C&C welcome.

Great progress, youve really improved your painting skill

Have had some thoughts about adding some sisters to my army but i just cant make up my mind.
Hate that they still havent made any in plastic, that would solve my problem PRONTO !

Have looked at those flamers and i still cant see witch is witch

    Great job, Mate !

Looking good! Very clean painting; I guess they look sharp on the battlefield, huh? Should be very eyecatching.

    Thanks SDKFZ and folketsfiende,

Now for a little walk down memory lane we have two old school Rhinos; many, many previous coats of paint removed before a new coat (I think one of these was actually a Predator that got converted into a Rhino by it's previous owner).

Now all three troop choices can ride into battle.

As I got nothing done yesterday due to cleaning, cooking and entertaining I have added some close up of the tanks. I think my purity seals might be a little large. Not nearly as detailed or weathered as my Guard tanks, but these old Rhinos do show their age in their own way.

    Hi Captain,

I really like your Sisters (no pun intended). I especially like your use of the old MK I rhino chassis. I am fond of those old tanks too (currently painting a MK Ib rhino for my Dark Angels) and it's great, to see a force, including so much of them, especially the rare Sororitas Version. I never saw a complete painted MK I Immolator before. I've got two questions: Is the rear Ramp with the Aquila a part of the original MK I Immolator, or is this a conversion, that you added? Could you post a picture of the gunner of one of your exorcists? It would be great, to see, how you fit a gunner into the old whirlwind launcher.

    Regards
    Alrik

    Thanks Alrik,

By the rear ramp do you mean this tank?

That is actually from the old MK1 Predator.

I can certainly take some photos of the gunner model from my converted Exorcists for you.

    Cheers,

    CB

    Yes, that's the one.

Oh, OK, I never saw one of those, except on Pictures. Back when they were produced, I was playing Battletech.

Re: Captain Brown's Sisters of Battle Painting Log (Over 150 pictures now)

As requested, some close up shots of the Exorcist conversions and the MK 1 Immolator Crew.

So here are some close ups of the Immolator Crew:

Here are some of the conversions, for one I cut off the entire end of the Flamers, for the other I decided to not cut off as much...both had allot of the area where I made the cuts covered with Purity Seals.

Here are the read access hatches of the Exorcists, they are top hatches with a side door in the center to beef up the size of the models.

    Hi Captain,

thanks for taking the pictures. Now I understand, how you build the exorcists (and may steal the idea in the far future, after my Dark Angels are completed).

I just painted them black and highlighted with a Midnight Blue mixed with a tiny bit of Fortress Grey.

Re: Captain Brown's Sisters of Battle Painting Log (Over 150 pictures now)

OK, it has been a bit since I updated with some photos...I had been working on my Necromundians and then my Elysians, but a painting block had started with camo patterned uniforms and I decided to take a stab at finishing the last squad and Chimera...then perhaps convert some figures from bits. I also updated the first page with some new links to more Sister's PLOGs, sadly one of the members has deleted all the images from his log as he felt no one ever commented on his PLOG.

Since I have not updated the log in a while I guess someone took offense and slammed the rating again, or perhaps classic Sisters are not their thing. Please feel free to submit comments and suggestions as I attempt to complete another army.

One more troop choice initiated, as troops are the back bone of armies in 40K...despite the choice being much lamented in the SoB tactics thread. I want to complete one more for maximum flexibility; I started with the special weapons, as the Flamer has become a much more deadly weapon in 6th Edition and I could use these two ladies to replace Storm Bolters in another squad if I wanted.

Notice anything different about them (or at least one of them)?

Glad to see you're still working on your Sisters Capt Brown. I'll get back to mine in May when I return to Europe. For now I will content myself with my Blood Ravens / Thousand Sons.

Anyway, keep up the good work, there's a long way to go before you win your war.
