If you're referring to the army list leaked from the French gamesday, then that was a very early draft and the experimental rules have since been confirmed to be pretty much as they are in the newest book. This means infernal guard as Core, at least stated as much in the PDF available from the FW site.
Ofcourse this all depends on what the Legion of Azgorh list actually is, however it would seem very silly of FW to release Infernal Guard, but then have them as special, meaning you can't put together a list from what they have released/shown so far as there are no core choices on the horizon.
Stuff I'm working on:
40k - Pre Badab Astral Claws - Hive Fleet Phobos - *New* Imperial Fists Heresy Era
Fantasy - One nation under Hashut
If infernals are a core choice in new official army list, then i'd be UBER happy as quite frankly - pts difference between standard warriors and infernals is so small compared to superior stats of infernals.
However if i stick my realism hat on - can see them being made special choices for both chaos and chaos dwarf armies unlike troop selection rules stated in forgeworld PDF.

But i am saying WS, S and armour differences IMHO make Infernals much better buy. Especially when really, in order for standard warriors to be able to actually kill stuff, need to pay for great weopons.
If (BIG IF) they are core in the official list then for me - definately going to be 4 units of Infernals - 2 decent sized units with shields/hand weopon and 2 smaller units with fireglaives. Backed by usual characters and warmachines.

I'm liking the increased AS for Bull centaurs. Makes them more viable. Can be 2+ AS with Shields. Also now they stomp.
Well, considering plenty of people with 'old' Chaos Dwarfs will likely use the list as well, you might just see an exception here. of course you could always 'counts as' normal dwarves, fireglaives being great weapon quarrellers etc.
Still, not the most fun thing, I understand the need to use those miniatures as they are, knowing forgeworld the army will likely be somewhat underpowered but with incredibly powerful options against certain units, which will cause vocal whining among the users of said units![]()
Anyone know what BRB lores they'll have access to?
"From the fires of betrayal, Unto the blood of revenge, We bring the word of Lorgar, The Bearer of the Word, The favored son of Chaos; All praise be given unto him, For those that would not heed, We offer praise to those that do, That they might turn their gaze our way, And gift us with the boon of pain, To turn the galaxy red with blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods." - Excerpt of the 341st book of the Epistles of Lorgar.
Waaagh! Gutzag - my first 40K Plog
So far it's Fire, Metal and death.
tha som lamasu had shodow so i assume that will be added
and dwarf characters cant join hobgob units, they deem them unworthy, which makes sense
What are people's opinions on the deathshrieker?
For me, the strength 3 and panic test shot is not far off useless what with high leadership big blocks of infantry and BSB - panic test will not do anything and strength 3 isn't exactly going to cause anyone concern.
Whilst i can see the higher strength 8 shot being useful against big monsters, going to require serious amount of luck for it to actually hit.
To me, for special choice warmachines - magmaflow cannon seems a much more reliable/useful choice.

Yeah Magma Cannons and of course Hellcannons are a must. Dreadquake might be worth a look with an Ogre added and a Daemonsmith for the reroll.
With all the moaning that goes on about assembling Hellcannons they are definately out of my list. However biggest dilemma for me is teh whole Iron Daemon vs Dreadquake Mortar.
If both are rare choices as the leaked 1st edition forgeworld list states then i will find it impossible to decide on which. I love the Iron Daemon model and like the Dreadquake Mortar - so on this basis would be Iron Daemon. However ruleswise it seems that Dreadquake has the edge.
Here's hoping Iron Daemon is actually a special choice as outlined in current forgeworld pdf.
"Peace means having a bigger stick than the other guy"
well ive got 2 dread quakes because the movement penalties and such are awesome, and the str5 ap is really really nice. must have an ogre though, the 3+ to shoot each turn really gets you when you need it. plus people are affraid to attack it if it has an ogre in it, unless they send a sizable unit at it, which is then a waste of that unit.
i tried a hellcannon, but was never that pleased with it, well, when compared to the dread quake which is only a few points more.
You tried any games using Iron Daemon? - cannon or combat version
What are your thoughts on it if you have?
