Hello there. I'm considering starting an Araby army. But I'm not really sure what to pick up. What should I start with to get a playable army in the neighbourhood of 1500-2000? Also is that a good points sum to begin at?
Thanks

Buy the required units (for 2-3k)
Take 2 heroes and mages
Elephants and cavalry
Guards
Warmaster: Kislev, Khemri, Dwarves
BFG: Pacification (IN), Expeditionary (Tau), Battlefleet (Chaos), Corsairs, Crusade (IN)
DW: EotBS, FSA
LotR: Khand, Gondor, Mordor, Rohan, Easterling
WHFB: Kaihuanotl, Caxuatn
40k: Daughters of Cacophany, Sept Kel'tyr and Ukos'Va, Stormwatch, Kher-Ys
Warmancer & NeoModernism
So your saying that I should buy more core than is required to form a strong base for the army? Atm I'm just trying to look at the investment I'll have to make.

I think it is more flufly that way but you will need 2k core for 1.5k games
Cavalry dominates but cannot claim most objectives
Monsters are nice to have but serves mostly as distraction units IMO
Flyers to take out enemy artillery
Both monsters and flyers are usually 1 per 1k

6 archers and 6 spearmen, 4 knights, 1 elephants, 2 camels and 2 carpets, general, 2 wizards and 4 heros. See what's left and just buy what you fancy, figure/painting wise.
Personally I don't rate guards or the light cavalry unless playing larger (3K+) games.
Variety and combined arms is the key to victory, there aren't really any "uber" units in warmaster.
