    my comissions

Recently i have been working on some commissions for a friend (Girlfriend's boss actually ^^). Commissioning is a new thing for me. i've never done any before, but it's fun so far Ironically he wanted more units for his autumn themed wood elves - my main army is an autumn themed wood elves army.

First out are some tree kin, somewhat quickly converted with some green stuff to make them look a bit meaner. Mainly bulking up the arms and giving them som claw-like branches.

He paid me to paint them in TT quality. Most of the project will be in TT quality, with the exception of a character or two who'll be "TT+" or "TT++" or whatever you'd call it.

So here are the first tree kin : ) i've got a sixth one done (the one in the wip pic - it's now painted.)

it's fun to paint some TT-stuff actually. Getting things done quickly Hope you'll like them!

Ooops, spelled the thread title incorrectly :P

    Eaglewood: Thanks

Tzarinchilla: Thank you. Glad you think so

Here is the sixth commissioned Tree Kin. Colours got a little bit weird. Oh well. i don't have it at home anymore so cannot take any new photos of it.

Next will be an eagle with a hero riding it and a battle standard bearer.

Here's some more commissions for the same customer. TT+ (or something like that).
i normally take a lot of time to paint miniatures and i feel i'm struggling a little bit with pulling off neat paintjobs quickly. The customer is happy though and that's what counts. i guess i'll just get better att speedy painting as i do it more.

    What do you think?

    Looks good to me.
How long did it take to paint these?
The red is a bit too bright for my taste, I would have done for a more brownish red, but that's just me.

    Glad you like them

i'm not quite sure. i'm bad with time estimation :/ Probably a bit more time than i was paid for, but then, they're my first commissions and they're sort of practice in painting quickly ^^ i don't know, maybe 40-50 minutes each for the tree kin, 3 hours for the bsb and 5-6 hours for the eagle+lord.
i'm bad at estimating time and i didn't check the time when painting so i'm really not sure though (plus i painted the characters and eagle at the same time).

The red is very vibrant yes. i painted them to fit in with some autumn WE he got from other painters
i prefer something like toned down terracotta-red cloaks for autumn WE myself, like how i painted my WE But i like more vibrant colours too.

These look great, you sure you're not cheating and commissioning stuff for your own army though?
