Holy cow. Amazing work. Love the paintscheme, the source lighting and the sculpting. Brilliant.

stonetroll: Fair enough, though luckily my Dark Eldar army doesn't need a whole lot of models like say Tyranids or O&G.
Jayden63: There are so many great logs around here that really help inspire an motivate people, its good to be part of that. Good luck with your own Dark Eldar.
The Harlyquin and d6damage: Thanks, its a lot of fun to do and great others like it to.
Now for an update, the next model needs some introduction. I made it a long time ago (in warhammer terms) when individual bits could still be ordered from GW and when I thought Sephiroth was as cool as any character could be. I think it was at least 7 years ago, I wasn't that handy with green stuff back then. For example after the hair was done it looked like more like dreadlocks, to make it look acceptable I cut out each individual strand of hair. The cloak from greenstuf wasn't strong enough so I strengthened it with super glue. Since then it has seen use as both Archon and Autarch but I never painted it. This weekend felt like a nice time to paint the model. The sculpting is a bit rough but the dynamic pose and one sleeveless arm seem to match the current DE remarkably well. While painting it the sword arm broke of, so apparently I didn't do pinning back then either.
The legs may look a bit short on these photo's that is a result of foreshortening. The legs and chests are drazhar's, the legs start at the back of the base and are directed diagonally to the front.
Prince Andrachos:
And as usual a cross eyed 3d image.
A small bit of fluff:
Prince Andrachos, is one of the younger Archons of the eventide Kabal. Being of noble blood of the original eventide line he was raised with no small amount of privileges and arguably more defining, many stories glorifying the ancient houses and power of the Elder race. Accused of honesty, spending more time training with his Incubi than his pleasure slaves and no sense of humour Andrachos is considered a deviant among his kind. From an early age he meticulously murdered and navigated his way to a position of power, which he believes is his birthright. He know leads a relatively small section of the eventide forces both whiting commorah and on realspace raids. The majority of his real space raids have had secondary objectives that either thwarted mon-keigh or aided besieged craftworlders and exodites. Despite his position of power and relative autonomy he's still hell bent on gaining a seat on eventides inner circle though he's still many centuries younger than its youngest member. Because of his successful campaigns of realspace raids the elder members of the estate have not yet deterred him from his somewhat naive personal goals, expecting his deviant behaviour will recede with time.

Nice. You got the hair perfect because, as soon as I saw it, I thought "Sephiroth". And hey, he's lost none of his bad-assness since.
As for the sword... it's too short, but how would you pack a properly sized one in a figure case?

Masamune is indeed a bit longer, though I never really tried to make a direct copy, on the other hand I can't really call it a subtle reference either. :/
Redeath: Thanks,...psychic orgasm blasts? Come to think of it there is probably a hentai around with such an attack (probably several).![]()

Hello everyone just saying hi so you know I'm not dead (yet).
Malakai: Welcome!
Nehemiah: This plog is still "active" but I've been really busy with some real life stuff, in addition I've been working on Vampire Counts, in total I didn't have a lot of time for Dark Eldar. But no worry when 6th arrives I'll be fully focused on 40k again. And to prove Its still active here's a bit of progress.

Two months since my last post, but I haven't been idle. I (finally) finished my masters degree, followed by vacation. And now its time for 6th edition and painting some miniatures. With all the rain I don't even have to feel guilty about sitting inside.
As shown in my previous post I started working on the mandrakes. I hoped they where one of those "written with 6th in mind" units but alas, they still suck in 6th. And as expected the faq/errata didn't help either.
To bad they are stunning models, maybe they'll perform better in 7th.
This not being a tactics tread I'd better show some nice pictures of these models hopefully the paint job did these great sculpts justice.
First a group shot:
And now the individual members:
Thats it for now, I hope I'll be back sooner next time.
Fantastic, but yes I too wish they had gotten a boost in 6th.

Amazing stuff!

Work on the Razorwing has continued. With a new supply of magnets I magnetised the rest of the weapons, so now all weapon options and all missiles are magnetized. I also added some city rubble to the flyer base, but why I glued the stand in place a few months back is beyond me. I must have been more concerned with using that thing on the table than with painting it.
The basecoats are now in place, so expect some colour the coming week(s).

Yay for RJF (Have 3 myself, can't wait for the VRB).
This and the DE 6ed tactica are the only threads on warseer I follow.

Scribe of Khorne: A fix would be lovely, grenades (even for a price) would go a long way, or giving them the shooting attack without the need for a paintoken. Even making the decapitator and IC could increase the number of shade units we'll see.
Duke Donald: Thanks for leaving a comment, and great you love it.
inq.serge: Then I'm afraid the frequency of my updates have let you down. Atleast there is some more action now. I to can't wait for the voidraven bomber to be released, currently I field the razorwing more often as a voidraven than a razorwing.
I've been doing some more airbrushing and I'm slowly getting a feel for that thing, but its still tough to get the different paints thinned to the right consistency. here's tonight's progress:
A lot of work still has to be done, mainly on the details, but the large area's have been filled now.
Looking good there Symrivven! The lighting on the mandrakes is fantastic and the fighter is looking very promising. I've been thinking if getting an airbrush myself as I reckon it's the best way to paint eldar vehicles - I really like the colour/tone transitions you can get. Keep it up!
My random painting log- 3/3/2013 now painting winter VC- black knights.

Hello Everyone.
The Razorwing is done and I'm pretty pleased, and indeed Silverstue blending like this would have been hell without an airbrush. the additional painting of all the details took some time and in hindsight I should also have airbrushed the missiles.Well better next time on the Voidraven bomber.
As you can see the cockpit window is painted. This wasn't my initial plan therefore behind this wind shield there is a fully painted cockpit with pilot. The reason I painted the windows was that Vallejo's liquid mask wouldn't come of decently (I did cut the sides with a blade) and I couldn't get the stains of so eventually I choose matt black windows, it looks better than I expected so maybe I'll keep doing this on the rest of the vehicles to.
Enough talk time for pictures:
All the rest of the weapons that aren't currently on the vehicle:
And of course the 3d image, cross your eyes gently till the images overlap:

Your Razorwing is beautiful. While I already wanted one for myself, I now also feel the urge to invest in an airbrush.
