Bagged a 1/48 scale landing craft from a well known auction site for 15 quid! As shown by the first bunch of pics kit needs a little modding to take the bases of the walkers (without bases they fit fine but who doesn't glue their figures to the base?) just a simple matter of cutting away a little of the decking on the side, glueing the inner walls to the actual hull thus making the floor space slightly wider. The gaps were blanked out with some spare plasticard I had knocking about (the red stuff on the pics). Couple of tiny magnets added to the ramp allows it to be used in the up or down position, Jobs a good 'un!

May well pick a couple more up so I can stage an assault landing when Warfare is released

Very nice looking stuff. The quality of the figures looks pretty good and your paint jobs look great. You've already answered most of my questions when others have asked. The only big one I have left is size. How do the basic troops compare in size to 40K Imperial Guard?
Yes, there are female marines and my Sunhawks will explain it to you.

Not all of the Emperor's Children turned coat. We WILL redeem our honor.

If you're not in lockstep with the majority, you must have an agenda.

    Beautifully done DUST Models!!!!!

My Boys and I have just started collecting and gaming DUST Tactics and is suits us perfectly.

My boys are aged 5 and 8 years old and while I love the miniatures and the mechanics, I am hoping to get more out of the DUST Warfare rules by Andy Chambers

Happy Gaming and please keep posting.

    Cheers,

    Allan

I'm sure we are in for a treat with warfare, currently collecting together lots of appropriate bombed out buildings and other scenery in prep for it, even planning on making up a beach landing for a game using real sand, should be fun!

anyhoo, talking about the beach landing Knocked another landing craft up for Dust. The observant among you may notice the cabin/deck area is the other way round on this one. Yes, even a seasoned modeller like myself can make mistakes and I put the deck on back to front on the first model LOL, I must have been half asleep, didn't even notice until I assembled this one!
I think maybe one more, 3 seems a nice round number

Excellent work on the Landing Craft!

I love all the little details

Did the DUST figures need any prep work prior to painting over them?

The only thing I did Fluffy was to pull the bodies apart snip a little of the peg away and sglue them back in, just seemed to make a cleaner join IMHO, apart from that I didnt even scrub or need to trim any flash, just sprayed them black and painted away. I am a very 'no faffing about' sort of painter however fluffy, if there is an easy simple and quick way to do something....I'm there!

Not much doing on the Dust front lately, just finished the red devils and Heavy Recon Grenadiers, hopefully should have the heavy walkers in hand for Xmas!

Anyhow, here they are, dunno about anyone else but I seemed to be lacking the three Beret festuned heads shown on the box art and got the slightly pants looking cap version of one of the Devils, if your listening Fantasy flight...GIVE ME FREE HEAD! (oooer)

    Hey, what great miniatures!

I will most definitely check out the Overlord site.

Regarding your painting: top notch. The weathering is looking great, very well done.

Man, your style is recognizable anywhere. I love your "fast tabletop" painting, great airbrushing and quick solid brushstrokes, but so perfectly placed that the colors just pop right out.

    Re: Dust...a pleasant break!

Hate wasting bits n peices so I used the spares from the paolo crew pack to knock together a Recon Mickey

Turret ring was a simple construction using card, if you can find a bottle cap the right size even easier!

The single 50's are from the crew pack, if you leave the twin '50 a loose fit from the Allied heavy walker it's a simple matter of swapping them over when you wish to include the Mickey in your army list
