Loving your painting Bulldog, as usual. I have a full collection of dust tactics myself and can't decide whether to give North Afrika Korps a crack or an Antarctic Defense force a go. Keep up the good work. One quick question, what did you use on the "hans" to give the really nice effect on the gun shield (I'm thinking a stocking of some sort and airbrushing ove rthe top.

    Cheers mate,

Hi Rom, I was just 'fiddling' and I found spraying through the Aluminium car repair mesh gave an interesting effect! Go Afrika mate, I reckon those sandy shades should look the dogs danglers

    In the meantime....

Finally, more Dust stuff has started to trickle through to the UK!

Slapped some paint on these command groups, hopefully the hero packs will be here soon too. In the meantime working on a few buildings for Tactics/Warfare, pics soon!

Started putting together some scenery for tactics and the impending release of Warfare. These were dirt cheap 1/35 plaster buildings from ebay. I simply added some card floors and a little extra details to fill them out a bit and make them more practical for gaming purposes. I have since added bases for stability, a little loose masonry and painted them, will post pics soon as I manage to clear the table of projects and get some tabletop pics!

Even though they are slightly larger than 1/48 dust scale it's a discrepency I can live with considering how cheap they are compared to the official building sets!

Those heavy tanks are amazing, especially the Allied one. Looks like Ghost In The Shell crossbred with WW2, which is weird but obviously works. Huge fan of your Engineer paintjob in that latest batch as well, the orange/yellow colour has tons of depth. The buildings look nice as well, though a bit on the large side, but I suppose you're OK with that for getting them for cheap!

    Re: Dust...a pleasant break!

Got some colour on these bricks n mortar. Kept things simple and tried not to clutter the floor space as I prefer to keep my scenery functional and can't stand it when figures are forever toppling over on uneven surfaces!

Will probably add a few interior details and propaganda posters when I find a little time, 6 more buildings incoming, should havy a cityscape in no time!

    The Allies cautiously advance...

Scouts have set up a forward observation position

The Axis forces wait, ready to ambush!

    Three storey ruin

The flooring is added using cardboard as are the tiles and floor boards, easy and quick, all the buildings shown where assembled and painted in one afternoon!

Another example of a building, cost on average around 7 quid from a well known auction site..bargain!

The bricks and rubble can be picked up from the same sellers, simply scatter it around and 'splodge' watered down PVA glue all over the pile to secure them in place. I tend not to go too crazy on this stuff as you need somewhere for your troops to stand!

The buildings look excellent. I so agree on needing proper space for models to stand on. I always make levels and stair platforms instead of slopes in hills for instance. Yours seem to be very nice and functional.

Nice look on the buildings mate. Just finished putting together my own building from the operation Cerebus Kit. Going to be as fiddly as hell trying to get troops on the bottom levels, hands simply aren't that small lol. Yours look to be alot easier to use game wise. Keep up the good work.

    Cheers,
    Rom

I was wondering what they were like Romanus, we still haven't got Cerebus here in the UK! Maybe it would be possible to slice them down the middle and make two 'fronts' out of one kit? Two for the price of one and no fiddly gameplay!

    Hey Bulldog.

Will try and get a log up and running once I have painted a few more things up, really slow painter lol. Then you can see how the building looks and how it plays. Was looking on the FFG site the other day and noticed that they have done exactly that with some of the building tiles for ruins. Will give it a go in the future.

    Cheers,

Axis and Allied Hero pack finished

The Axis Heroes (boo, hisssss) from left to right

Totenmeister, Grenadier X and Stefan. Just when you thought zombies were bad enough...they turn up with circular saws!

The Allied Heroes (cheer, clap) from left to right

Johnny one-eye, Action Jackson, and The Priest. Action Jaction saw his first battle yesterday, scraped through by the skin of his teeth and managed to Head butt a Nazi Gorilla to death. What a HERO!

Dust Warfare (the tabletop version) is due for imminent release 'apparantly' Loki, in the meantime have been preparing more buildings for it!

Painted up a few more buildings yesterday afternoon along with a few little barricades, all airbrushed. Cheap n cheerful!

As with the other buildings when I get some time I will personalise them a little more with some propoganda posters, a few cafe/shop names, etc.

More to come, will have that city in no time!

    Dust Warfare released, woohoo!!!

Knocked out a couple more buildings, intend to run a Private Ryan style campaign from beach to city, Church should be interesting, imagine the scene. An allied recon force take shelter from the rain on a stormy night, suddenly they are awoken by scratching at the door, groans then machine gun fire, those dastadly Axis forces have raised the zombies from the graves and are assaulting the church...FIRE AT WILL!

Also painted the two newest heroes from the Cerberus set

Yes! I second the enthusiasm. Having read most of the book. I love the game-play! I cant wait to paint up my collection, BTW AT-43 had a bunker set I have like 4 of these they would be perfect for your Pvt Ryan scenario! I bet you could find a few on ebay!
