Here are a couple of teaser pics of the Thunder variant Assault Speeder. The engines on this project have been giving me nothing but problems in how they look, but I finally came up with something that looks good.
This isn't quite the finished product let. I still need to make the prototype molds, do some finally clean up and modifcations, then it's the production molds. But it shouldn't be long now....

Well the production molds for the Thunder variant should be done this week but I thought I'd share something else I'm working on....
Oh yes, the Heavy Assault Speeder is coming to life! This version will allow you to have a second model behind the pilot that can be anything from a character to a trooper with a heavy weapon.
Still a lot to do but it's coming along nicely. With any luck these too will be available by the end of the month.

Big fan of your work!
It's nice to see that you're still at it
I'm an amateur caster who's trying to get a bit more serious.
I was wondering if you could post some pics of your setup?
Your moulds, pressure pot, etc.
Would be very interesting to see how the pro's work :]

The production molds are in process and I hope to have the Thunder and the Heavy Assault Speed variant ready by the end of the month
Thanks! I'd take pics but it's an absolute mess down there. But basically my set up is an old paint pressure pot similar to this: http://www.paintsprayerslv.com/Air%2...2.5%20tank.jpg
I converted it over to a pressure chamber so that I can attach it to an air compressor and pressurize the resin to about 60 psi while in the mold.
As for the molds themselves, they're all two part molds made using SmoothOn's Mold Max 30 silicone rubber: http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-Ru...135/index.html
The resin I use is their Smoothcast 321 urethane plastic resin tinted with their black dye: http://www.smooth-on.com/Urethane-Pl...210/index.html
SmoothOn has a number of Do It Yourself videos that are really handy for beginners. If you're starting out I'd recommend getting come of their trial packs and giving it a try.

Thanks a lot for the info!
Really appreciate it.
I'm having a pressure pot coming in which I'm going to modify so I can get rid of all the bubbles which plague me so.
I also use Smooth on's products.
Smooth-Cast 300, but I', thinking of trying a different resin to get a bit more time to pour it into the moulds which I use Oomoo 30A for.
Again, thanks for your very inspiring work![]()

I'm really glad I stumbled on this thread. I love the Talon and Thunder jetbikes. They look big enough to accompany Sammael's bike as wingmen. With a few added icons from the bits box, these will be terrific. Great work.
Since you obviously have some talent at this sort of thing, you might consider two more things that could grow your side business.
(1) left and right arm dreadnought autocannons with your own spin on them. So many people field rifleman dreads these days, there's room for you if you can make them at the right price.
(2) IG jetbikes that could 'count as' rough riders.
Well, you probably have enough people tell you, "hey, you should do this..."
