    Random Monkey Business!

Hullo! This will be a seldom-updated blog of any random models/commissions I decide to do. Most of it will be Space Marines (I think) as thats the army I have the most experience with and what a lot of my mates who want models done play. I do plan to dabble into Fantasy and may even get some Specialist Games in here too.

Here's the first instalment. A mate at my local GW has just started a Deathwing army and asked me to make him a Belial. Luckily, before I was distracted by Dark Eldar, I was making up a Pre-Heresy Dark Angles army so had plenty of bitz to spare. Enough talk, here's what I came up with:

Most of the component are from the new Grey Knight Termis but there's also bitz from the Blood Angels Honour Guard, Dark Angles, Brass Etch, Forge World, Chaos Warriors and a bunch of random doo-dads.

Let me know what you think of my take on the Master of the Deathwing

It's the small things that make such a difference, innit? Love what you did to the shield. Adds so much character.

Thank you all for the kind words and kind welcome.

There were other things I wanted to try with this guy but didn't have the bitz. I would have liked to have him with a cloak and a lions head over the RH shoulder. I'm very tempted to make a second one once I get these bits. Just because :P

    Re: Random Monkey Business!

BOO! Ha, gotcha! Well I've been pluggin away at my Dark Eldar army and recently been given a commission to do a Space Wolves army (too big to put into this thread, it has its own, link in sig) so havn't done any one-off figures for a long time. Last night tho I had a mate over and he wanted a bit of help making a Vampire Lord on foot to go with his Blood Dragons army. He'd already done a very nice mounted Lord using the Zombie Dragon rider and Archaeon's daemonic steed so I had to match that.

Now when I say 'a bit of help' I really mean I took the bitz off him and got to work with file, saw, scalple, pin-vice and glue before he had time to object. He was originally going to use Konrad von Carstine as a base model but also had a second Zombie Dragon rider spare. I've never been a fan of the Konrad model so I quickly convinced him to go with the rider as a base model. This ofcourse made it a lot harder prospect. Here's what I came up with tho:

There was A LOT of hacking away at the legs and waist of the model aswel as cutting the arms up and re-pinning them into better positions. The only part not from the original model is the wolf pelt hanging from his back to hide the huge gaping hole where his ass ought to be. My mate is gonna do a bit of green stuff work to fill the many holes and to continue the cape up the back of the model but we were both very happy with the resault. As a rough indictaion he's a good head taller than a Space Marine even without the built up base. Maybe a bit big but he wanted his general to stand out; now he does.

Cheers all for any feedback and see you some time in the future.

    Re: Random Monkey Business!

Its been a looooong time between drinks (commissions/random models) but I have another little instalment to the randomness.

While painting with a mate of mine he dragged out a Huron Blackheart model and said he'd be turing it into Lucius the Eternal for his Emp Children army he's started and asked for a bit of help. Again, 'help' I changed to 'do' and stole it off him for a while:

Body from Huron, Sword from DElf Black Guard, Whip from Corpse Cart, Backpack from Noise Marines with Vials from a Talos. Not a huge conversion but I think its really affective. My mate'll be strating a log here in the Chaos forums some time soon, when he does I'll post a link and anyone interested can follow his army and see the painted Lucius.

TTFN and hope you all like

Huron is awesome but I am especially enamoured by the vampire. Now there is a vampire lord worthy of being called a lord.
